Welcome to the University of Twente's Production Technology group, part of the National research program Aviation in Transition. We are currently seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our team.
The focus of this position is on the modelling of the press forming process of thermoplastic composites, crucial materials for the next generation of commercial aircraft. This role involves developing novel constitutive models for molten unidirectionally reinforced thermoplastic composites, implementing them in finite element software, and validating them through experiments.
Here are some key points about the position:
- Master's degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience with polymers and fiber-reinforced composites.
- Proficiency in the finite element method and programming skills in languages like Python or Matlab.
- Strong English language skills (TOEFL > 90 or IELTS > 6.5).
