THE ROLE

As a seasoned Senior Payroll Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in all facets of payroll processing. Your responsibilities will entail analyzing and addressing intricate issues that demand a thorough understanding of payroll operations. In your role as the SME, you will play a crucial part in enhancing and supporting current payroll functions in an outsourced model, collaborating closely with client stakeholders, service providers, and technical teams to ensure a seamless payroll experience for employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expertly handle end-to-end payroll processes in line with defined standards and client specifications, encompassing all associated tasks and transactions
  • Adapt, assist, and oversee changes as circumstances dictate
  • Stay abreast of legislative requirements, system updates, changes, and overall payroll procedures while steering the payroll legislation roadmap
  • Address payroll inquiries and requests, supporting the Operations function
  • Update, uphold, and reinforce the usage of Defined Work Instructions (DWIs) and other process documentation
  • Tackle and assist in resolving escalated technical and functional issues
  • Ensure compliant utilization of all systems
  • Propose or engage in innovation initiatives to foster continuous improvement
  • Support client operations, project implementations, and go-lives
  • Contribute to projects as necessary and assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated proficiency in various aspects of payroll administration, including third-party interfaces, timekeeping, tax compliance, benefits, and other key payroll integration areas
  • Capability to identify and mitigate risks
  • Solid grasp of MS Office tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic global setting
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a penchant for learning
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and work independently while adhering to processes and procedures
  • BA/BS in a business-related field such as Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in administering Payroll within HR consulting, HR Outsourcing, or Corporate environments
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll processes, practices, and related legislation

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with HRIS systems like Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft is a plus
  • Possession of payroll certifications
  • Experience in managing small to medium-scale projects
