Location/Division Specific InformationTransmission electronic microscopes are the most sophisticated laboratory instruments that are being developed and used today. Software is crucial into exploiting all the potential of these microscopes, pushing the limits of current physical technologies.

These microscopes are used by scientists and engineers in life science, material sciences and semiconductor industry, indirectly affecting our life in many aspects.

By supplying into this software development, you will help the development of better vaccines, new lighter and stronger materials, or more efficient semiconductors.

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Eindhoven is looking for a firmware-embedded software engineer for their Platform devices development team.

The team is responsible for software architecture, development, functionality, and integration of microscope controlling devices for our ground-breaking Transmission Electron MicroscopesYour Intern of Final graduation assignment will be about inventing a common component infrastructure for the existing platform components.

Education

Studying or finalizing:
BSc or MSc degree in Electrical and Firmware Engineering or either Embedded software.
ExperienceYou enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary, high-tech and international environment to seek technical problems.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Micro controller (preferable ARM-Cortex), I/O peripherals and busses software experiences.
  • Knowledgeable on RTOS-es like Embedded Linux, Free-RTOS (or similar).
  • Modern C/C++ skills.
  • Measuring (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter).Physical Requirements / Work Environment Working location will be Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
