Het Dutch Wildlife Health Centre (DWHC), onderdeel van de faculteit Diergeneeskunde aan de Universiteit Utrecht, onderzoekt in het wild levende dieren en verspreidt de opgedane kennis. Vanuit jouw rol als communicatiemedewerker lever je een bijdrage aan het verspreiden van de kennis, communicatie binnen het netwerk en de zichtbaarheid van het DWHC.

**Wat ga je doen?**:
Het DWHC is dé Nederlandse autoriteit op het gebied van ziekten bij in het wild levende dieren. We voeren pathologische diagnostiek uit op diverse diersoorten, van kikkervisjes tot edelherten, gefinancierd door het Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport (VWS), het Ministerie van Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit (LNV) en de Universiteit Utrecht. Als communicatiemedewerker ben je een essentiële schakel in onze missie.

Je werkt binnen een team van ongeveer 10 personen en fungeert als directe verbinding met de afdeling communicatie van de faculteit Diergeneeskunde. Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het creëren van content voor onze website en nieuwsbrief, het schrijven van artikelen voor diverse publicaties, het verstrekken van wildbiologische en ecologische achtergrondinformatie aan het team, en het volgen van internationale ontwikkelingen op het gebied van ziekten bij wilde dieren.

Daarnaast onderhoud je contacten met het veld, organisaties en instanties, organiseer je bijeenkomsten en geef je voorlichting aan verschillende doelgroepen. Bovendien sta je samen met het team klaar om vragen van pers en burgers te beantwoorden. Met jouw bijdrage help je bij het delen van waardevolle kennis en het vergroten van bewustzijn over wildlife health.

**Wat breng je mee?**:
We zoeken een nauwkeurige, resultaatgerichte en zelfstandige teamspeler met ervaring en enthousiasme in communicatie. Verder:

- heb je kennis over (in het wild levende) dieren en/of ecologie;
- heb je mínimaal een hbo-diploma;
- beschik je over uitstekende sociale vaardigheden;
- beheers je de Nederlandse taal uitstekend en de Engelse taal goed.

**Wat bieden wij?**:
Wij bieden:

- een functie voor 12 maanden met uitzicht op een dienstverband voor onbepaalde tijd;
- een werkweek van 16 tot 28 uur met een bruto maandsalaris van mínimaal € 3.377;
- tot maximaal € 5.090;
- bij een fulltime dienstverband (schaal 9-10 van de cao Nederlandse Universiteiten);
- 8% vakantiegeld en een eindejaarsuitkering van 8,3%;
- een pensioenregeling, gedeeltelijk doorbetaald ouderschapsverlof en flexibele arbeidsvoorwaarden op basis van de cao Nederlandse Universiteiten.

Naast de arbeidsvoorwaarden die zijn vastgelegd in de cao Nederlandse Universiteiten kent de Universiteit Utrecht een aantal eigen regelingen. Zo zijn er afspraken over professionele ontwikkeling, verlofregelingen, regelingen op het gebied van sport en cultuur en krijg je korting op software en andere IT-producten. Ook geven we je de ruimte om je arbeidsvoorwaarden uit te breiden via het Keuzemodel Arbeidsvoorwaarden. Zo stimuleren we je graag om te blijven groeien. Het Dutch Wildlife Health Centre (DWHC) is onderdeel van de afdeling Pathologie en voert secties uit op dood gevonden in het wild levende dieren. Voor het signaleren en onderzoeken van wildziekten zijn we afhankelijk van dode dieren die door mensen in het veld worden aangeleverd. Samen met andere onderzoeksinstituten verrichten we onderzoek naar zoönosen. Ook slaan we weefselmateriaal in een biobank voor retrospectief onderzoek. Belangrijke onderzoeksresultaten plaatsen we op de website en de opgedane kennis verspreiden we middels artikelen in populaire vakbladen en de media. Ook delen we relevante signalen over wildlife health. Samen met de afdeling communicatie van de faculteit Diergeneeskunde beantwoorden we (pers)vragen en daar speel jij als communicatiemedewerker van het DWHC natuurlijk ook een belangrijke rol in.
