Wilmar Europe in Rotterdam is a fast growing and international processor and trader of plant based oleochemicals and biodiesel. Our European head office is located at Delftseplein next to the Central Station in Rotterdam. In addition to the office in Rotterdam, Wilmar Europe has offices in Germany, France, Spain and Italy and joint ventures in Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Next to the foregoing we make use of various tolling manufacturers throughout Europe.

The Rozenburg plant was started in 2014 and produces vegetable fatty alcohols and derivatives by hydrogenation of methyl esters. The fatty alcohols are used as a raw material for surfactant components mainly used in detergents and household & personal care products. We recently added a tank farm and a jetty for seagoing vessels to our site.

We are currently looking for a self-starting and result oriented:

Plant Manager:

In this position you will lead the Site Management Team to ensure the operation of the factory is executed in a safe, compliant and effective way in line with the company's objectives and policies.

This includes efficient site operations in terms of budget, process efficiency, yield, product quality, and environmental, health and safety issues.

Furthermore, to manage and oversee our JV factories and tolling manufacturers to ensure quality and HSE standards are met and to advise management on options to optimise processes and or developing new production processes or products.

This position is based at our factory in Rozenburg (Botlek-Rotterdam) and is part of the Management Team of Wilmar Europe.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe operation of the plant (occupational and Process Safety Management) including environmental care and ensure compliance with all relevant and applicable European and national rules & regulations.
• Build up technical team capability in Europe and identifying technical and production organizational gaps.
• Manage, monitor and improve all operational processes (e.g. logistics, production, lab, work permit management, blend/pump plans, quality, waste management, etc.) in compliance with applicable rules and regulations and company policies.
• Ensure the assets are maintained and managed in a cost effective and safe way ensuring operational availability.
• Organize, manage and monitor plant effectiveness, plant efficiency and plant improvement and monitor plant stocks and plant efficiencies (yield/losses, process aids and energy) and seek continuous plant performance improvements.
• Manage projects like production stops, (industrial cleaning, catalyst change, plant start, commissioning, etc.), new build and expansions of sites/factories and plant modifications.
• Manage and oversee Joint Venture factories and tolling manufacturers elsewhere in Europe to ensure quality and HSE standards are met.
• Keep up a sound relationship with all stakeholders internally and externally and represent the site on different platforms.
• Manage, motivate, appraise & develop direct reports and ensure same for all site staff.

Requirements:

• Masters/bachelor's degree in technical sciences preferably in the field of Chemical Engineering
• At least 1015 years of experience is a comparable position.
• Experience in a multicultural/multi country environment.
• Welldeveloped management skills and experience.
• Problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
• Preferable in possession of Lean Green or Black belt
• Wellpracticed in the Dutch and English language
