​The Bar Supervisor of LuminAir (aka “The bar above Amsterdam”) is responsible for operating the Bar and supervising a bar team to create exceptional customer experiences with exclusive beverage offers. Main duties include ensuring high levels of cocktail preparation in the bar to deliver an excellent Guest-, and Member experience while controlling consistency of cocktails, inventory, team member satisfaction, ordering and other related tasks.This is a key role in the team, especially considering the rooftop bar & terrace, has undergone a full refurbishment, rebranding and repositioning.

Our new rooftop bar & terrace LuminAir is an inspiring destination from day to evening in an ever-changeable space: The outside views as well as the interior environment will never be the same twice. LuminAir is a beverage led venue, with world-class mixology, exclusively tailored drinks and presentations based on sky and air elements. The food menu consists of modern Dutch and international bites, finger food and sharing plates, while the Eclipse menu – for (semi) private events from 30 till 300 guests – consists of modern canapés, table snacks, bar bites and cocktail dinners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Bar Supervisor of LuminAir, you will:

  • 1. Exceptional Guest Experiences
  • Take ownership of service delivery in your section to provide exceptional customer experiences, anticipating customers’ needs and making sure service sequences are followed consistently and efficiently.
  • Know your menus and recipes in detail, so you and your team can advise customers on ingredients and beverage choices
  • Prepare and serve a range of beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, soft drinks and garnishes following the bar’s standard recipes.
  • Create personalized cocktails and mocktails based on customer preferences.
  • Make sure that food allergies and dietary requirements are treated with absolute seriousness by all Team Members in your section.
  • Contribute to achieving bar revenue targets trough upselling
  • Communicate effectively with the service team so that all orders are correct, well-presented and delivered on time.
  • Carry out customer satisfaction checks, taking quick action to improve service and resolve complaints, supporting your team where needed.

  • Support, train and develop your team, creating an inclusive environment where all Team Members can thrive.
  • Deliver informative and motivational shift briefings, sharing helpful updates and feedback.
  • Assign daily work, making sure each Team Member is aware of their responsibilities, and supervising performance during the shift.

  • 3. Day-To-Day Essentials
  • Make sure that you and your team strictly comply with all regulations and standards, including health, safety and hygiene.
  • Set up your section for service, and make sure that equipment, guest areas and work areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift.
  • Monitor and lead the consistency of cocktail preparation.
  • Make sure that all transactions are recorded in the POS system accurately at the time of order that billing is accurate and that cash handling complies with hotel guidelines.
  • Assist in monitoring and restocking inventory.
  • Give feedback and suggestions to the Restaurant leadership team to improve guest and team member experiences.


Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with a passion for bars and at least 1 year experience in a similar position in the high volume Bar environment. Experience in supervising a team and beverage creation would be an advantage.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Customer focus, maintaining the highest standards of authentic service to create memorable experiences every time.
  • Excellent communication skills to create connections with diverse customers and share information clearly
  • Great teamwork and a positive attitude
  • Flexibility and adaptability, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and focused under pressure.

An understanding of flavours and infusions and experience with equipment like Rota Vap, Sous Vide and dehydrators would be an advantage. Knowledge of POS systems would be an advantage

The perfect candidate is fluent in English (Dutch language skills would be an advantage).
