Job description:
Our Meetings and Events Coordinator ensures exceptional meeting and events are delivered seamlessly from initial enquiry, throughout the event, and to post-event follow-up. The successful candidate will be client-focused and results-oriented, ensuring maximum possible occupancy and average room rate is achieved. You are an effective relationship-builder, able to establish positive and lasting relationships with clients to secure client loyalty. This position reports into the Director of Sales and is part of the INNSiDE Amsterdam commercial team. It is an excellent opportunity for an existing meeting and events coordinator with a strong hotel background to work independently and take ownership of the role.
What will I have to do?
- Follow up on outstanding proposals, first and second options on Conference rooms
- Manage all inbound enquiries to agreed or required response times
- Manage social and corporate events in our Skybar Hasta La Vista, baby & restaurant Tierra
- To participate in function sheet meetings and ensure clients requests are communicated to the operations team
- To liaise with clients about their bookings, ensuring a smooth and personalized experience
- Conduct site inspections, being fully conversant in room types and set-ups, AV equipment etc.
- To participate in Sales activity days to chase repeat bookings
- Invoicing of events
- Check the arrivals list/Event Order for accuracy of the bookings including rates and investigate any double bookings
- Ensure all Events are charged and tracked accurately
What are we looking for?
- 1 or 2 years in a similar role within a Hotel environment
- Would be great if you have experience with Opera PMS
- Time management skills and excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail
- Speaks and writes English fluently, Dutch would be great
