Mission

The Technical Supplier Manager (TSM) is a member of ASML Supplier Account team who is responsible for developing and maintaining the technology at ASML suppliers while maintaining the strategic management level relationship to enable an optimal engineering collaboration, and NPI execution.

In addition to being the technical interface between supplier, ASML D&E and S&P, the TSM will collaborate on complex technical issues, driving technical process improvements and responsible for developing the capabilities at the supplier to develop and industrialize the applicable ASML products with a well-defined and organized project organization.

TSM can be a member of the Category team where category strategies are developed and supplier selections are done. You’ll play a key role in technical capabilities knowhow within the supply base during the supplier Selection process.

As a member of the ASML Supplier Account Team (SAT) you work closely together with the Account Lead (AL) the Logistics Supplier Manager (LSM), Supplier Account Lead (SAL) and Quality Supplier Manager (QSM). TSM contributes to encourage a first-time right and zero repeat technical mindset at suppliers, facilitate accelerated learning (e.g. drive early supplier involvement in the concept design phase of an NPI project), perform process optimization and develop the supplier to a higher maturity level.

Role and Responsibilities

The TSM ensures smooth NPI performance on suppliers side and enables ASML D&E to perform and execute ASML Product Generation Process. The TSM works on de-risking the ASML product roadmap by developing technical capabilities in supplier landscape in time, responsible for optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of executing the supplier’s portfolio. As a TSM you contribute to QLTCS improvements on NPI projects and part quality from technology and quality point of view.

Using your technical knowledge, analytic thinking, professional network and excellent people skills, you are a member of the Supplier Account Team to manage the capability of the supplier according to the agreed Supplier Profile on Technology. The main activities for a TSM are:

  • Responsible for the technology section within the Supplier Account Team (SAT)
    • Driving the technology roadmap in the supplier base
      • Identify the technical capabilities of the supplier
      • Advise to suppliers on strategic level of the technical capabilities
      • Drive improvement projects in technical capabilities
    • Keep technical supplier capability overview up-to-date
    • Own the T section of the Supplier Profile Audit in the guidance of lead auditor
    • Define, monitor and enhance continuous Improvement Plans together with supplier which involve improving the technical capability of supplier as a result of Supplier Profile Audits
    • Own and drive for T performance
    • Contribute in defining and executing the overall supply chain strategy
    • Monitoring the NPI projects to proactively secure operational execution
    • Participate in new supplier scouting and drive new supplier onboarding
      • Support in preparation of supplier selection proposals
      • Ensure alignment and definition of one Way of Working with the supplier in case of multiple NPI projects
    • Take part in decision making of new supplier selection.
  • Align and mature supplier’s NPI process with ASML PGP process
  • Liaison between supplier, D&E and S&P through active participation in SAT by driving technical roadmaps for its suppliers.
    • Operational guidance and alignment of Supplier Quality Engineers

Education and experience

BSc / MSc / PhD degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical, optical, industrial), Mathematics or Physics.

• 5-10 years relevant work experience

• Green or Black Belt + Lean Six Sigma experience including tooling (e.g. SPC, FMEA, 8D, MSA) is a plus

• Experience in project & product management in complex high-tech low volume industry

• Experienced in supplier management & related production processes

• Experience in quality improvement & operational excellence in manufacturing environment

• Experience in participating in improvement projects and audits across the supply chain

Other information

Within ASML, D&E is responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of integrated solutions that meet business requirements. This responsibility also includes the specification and trade-offs across sectors. Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), a group within Machine Conditioning (MC) cluster, enables the MC cluster to meet industrialization requirements at suppliers, deliver excellent solutions related to flow and thermal domain towards good product quality.

In today’s complex multi-tier supply chains, this is only possible by creating full transparency in the chains and flexibility at suppliers. The SQE group is involved in over 60 suppliers, on top of that sometimes several tiers deep. For this position international travelling is required, up to 30% depending on the performance of the supplier.

The TSM role is positioned in the Supplier Quality Engineering group in D&E Machine Conditioning. The TSM interfaces with suppliers, design engineers, development project leads, function owners and department managers, supplier network managers, account leads, category manager, customer support, manufacturing.
