ASML Business Services (ABS) is ASML’s provider of well-defined services, leveraging cross-sector, highly quality and compliant processes. Within ABS, we deliver world-class automated support services for six sector within ASML: HR&O, Finance, IT, Sourcing & Procurement, Sales and CRE. ABS is organized around five so-called Operations Towers to provide services to these sectors and the rest of ASML: Finance Operations, People Operations, Customer Operations, Vendor Operations and IT Operations. In addition, there are two other Operations Teams; Reporting Operations, focusing on delivering standardized report for ABS and Master Data Operations, focusing on all master data objects in scope from ABS.

ABS as an organization also has a constant focus on improvement that is being supported by the ABS Capability Center. This team drives programs and projects throughout all Operations Towers and supports Lean deployment in all areas, interaction channels from ABS and ASML employees, and all applications. Furthermore, the team works on the ABS strategy.

As part of the ABS Capability Center, you will orchestrate the overall ABS strategy. You will be responsible for developing, updating, and facilitating ABS strategic plans. Your role is critical to the organization as it ensures alignment across strategy, goals, and annual plans, drives standard business practices for planning, agile, and continuous improvement across the department, and monitors the progress and business value of prioritized initiatives.

Roles and responsibilities

As ABS strategy lead, you will partner closely with business leaders across ABS and the related sectors. You will develop our strategy while ensuring incremental progress across the business. Your strong partnership, negotiation, communication, and influencing skills will be crucial to ensure success. In short, you will be a visionary and change agent overseeing the transformation of operations to achieve greater efficiency, innovation, and alignment with broader corporate goals.

In this role, You will:

  • Develop, facilitate, and support the development and maintenance of the ABS multi-year strategy, ensuring alignment with department goals and initiatives, overall business goals and global objectives
  • Create and communicate a clear ABS strategic vision towards the business and provide ongoing updates to keep stakeholders aware of progress.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and business units to understand their needs and drive alignment between ABS and the business
  • Facilitate scoping conversations leading up to a new service Introduction in ABS
  • Own best practices, drive benchmarking, and define updates to ABS operating model as business needs evolve
  • Lead the team that drives the annual ABS planning process; coordinate and facilitates new intake requests, and the building of annual plans and change portfolio. Support the development of strong business cases and ability to validate progress and realize value using the value office concept
  • Oversee budgeting and financial performance of ABS, focusing on cost optimization
  • Consolidates strategic plans across ABS and publish for one view across the organization. Own the monitoring of current year plans, provide readouts of progress and ensure that business value is achieved

Education and experience
  • Master’s degree and 15+ years of experience in shared services, GBS, or similar functions, with a track record of strategic leadership
  • Deep understanding of GBS models, industry best practices, and emerging trends in automation and service delivery
  • Proven track record of developing options and testing and learning to define the best path forward
  • Strong project management skills and working knowledge of Agile practices

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to senior executives
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally, leveraging influencing skills to bring others along and adapting the approach based on stakeholder feedback
  • Ability to manage a large and diverse range of stakeholders to balance their interests and act fairly despite conflicting demands
  • Ability to guide, coach and advise at operational, tactical and strategic level to effect sustainable change and improve organizational maturity from a portfolio, program and project perspective
  • Strategic thinking - seeing the big picture, anticipating trends, and shaping the future of GBS operations
  • Being a team player who enjoys working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams with the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and planning skills in combination with a hands-on mentality

Other information

You will be part of the ABS Capability Center and report to the head of ABS Capability Center. This is a full-time position (40 hours).
