Job Mission

As Lead DevOps engineer in Product IT your designing, building, and maintaining products and services for ASML internal customers (e.g. Development and Engineering, Customer Support) but also external parties such as suppliers and factories. You will ensure the solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure, and work closely with our customers, other engineers and architects.


Job Description

You will be part of the Product IT Infrastructure DevOps team that offer a very diverse set of services such as, on-prem Kubernetes hosting, patch distribution services, managed service devices, customer connectivity and more.

You will be working with various technologies, from the latest K8S innovations and cloud platforms to classical IT infrastructure, virtualized or bare metal. Keeping this in mind we are looking for a candidate with experience in various infrastructure virtualization and infrastructure automation technologies that is not afraid to dive deep into another technology stack. It's good to know that at this moment in time we are mostly focused on on-premise deployments for security reasons but we also like to explore possibilities for cloud deployments.

We interface with many Departments from network to DC hosting and even end-user devices, so it is important that the candidate is a good communicator, clear on requirements and fluent in English.

As Lead DevOps engineer in our team you will be:

  • Part of an Agile team (DevOps), you will be working in a team with +/- 10 other engineers with a diverse skillset, level of maturity and background.
    • Interacting directly with end-users and co-developing teams to share your expert knowledge
    • You will have a leading role in the design and implementation of specific services
    • Empowered to make autonomous decisions with your team, and challenge your product owner, to maintain a healthy balance between state-of-the-art technology, security, performance, and stability

Education & Experience

  • Highly experienced (> 10 years) IT DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer with relevant Master degree or equivalent thinking and working level, with comprehensive experience in a major IT infrastructure domain.
  • Extensive knowledge of/experience across relevant domains like cloud, compute, security, storage, connectivity and/or automation.
  • Experience with technical leadership roles in Infrastructure Engineering projects
  • Solid experience with Ansible, Docker, Linux server administration, Kubernetes, bash & python scripting
  • Experience with network security (e.g. mutual TLS, SSL & OAuth 2.0 Server Integration) & windows admin
  • Experience with "Infrastructure as code"
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling

Context (External only)

Our department provides a very diverse set of IT services to the Development & Engineering and Customer Service business units. We manage hardware stacks in our customer fabs, connectivity between ASML and our customers and deliver tools for software distribution, customer service and development tooling for software developers in our Business Line Applications. We also design, implement and operate various hosting platforms (incl. VM based, K8S based and cloud).
