Who are we?

The Toren is a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel in the dynamic heart of Amsterdam. We recently became a part of Pavilions Hotels & Resorts, resulting in new management and a new fresh start.

Our highly trained team and the small size of our hotel allows us to surprise our guests with a personalized experience, time after time. We offer our guests the right balance between professional and casual service by understanding and proactively addressing the guests’ needs. Although we have different departments, our team spirit extends throughout the entire hotel. We help each other where needed in order to provide the best possible service.

What is the job?

The Front Office is the center of hospitality in the hotel, it is the first point of contact with our guests. Almost all questions, remarks, and complaints are handled through the Front Office. The tasks and responsibility of a Front Office Employee include:

  • Informing and advising guests that are interested in making a reservation;
  • Checking guests in- and out;
  • Handling administrative procedures of the Front Office;
  • Complaint handling and prevention

The Toren is een uniek 4 sterrren boutique hotel in het kloppende hart van Amsterdam. Het hotel is onderdeel van Pavilions Hotels & Resorts.

Mede door het formaat van ons hotel weet ons goed getrainde team telkens weer de gast te verrassen met een hoog gepersonaliseerde service. Wij bieden onze gasten de juiste balans tussen informele en professionele service, doordat wij de behoeftes van de gast buitengewoon goed begrijpen. Ons team reikt verder dan de individuele afdelingen, wij helpen elkaar waar nodig om de best mogelijke service te verlenen. Wij creëren een onvergetelijke herinnering voor onze gasten door het leveren van persoonlijke service op een perfecte locatie.


De functie

De Front Office is het eerste aanspreekpunt van onze gasten in het hotel. Bijna alle vragen, opmerkingen en klachten worden door de Front Office team behandeld. Ons team is uiterst getraind in het verlenen van de hoogste persoonlijke service, om onze gasten een onvergetelijke ervaring te geven. De werkzaamheden bestaan onder andere uit:

  • Het adviseren en assisteren van gasten, op een professionele en gastvrije manier
  • Het in- en uitchecken van hotelgasten
  • Het hanteren van administratieve procedures
  • Het oplossen en voorkomen van klachten

Who are you?

You are eager to learn, ambitious, and Hospitality is part of your DNA. You live in (or within close proximity of) Amsterdam and are available for shifts during the weekend and evenings. Your sense of hospitality is not limited to guest service only, you connect to your colleagues and help them when necessary. Furthermore, you have the following personal traits and skills:

  • You understand guest needs, and act accordingly in a pro-active manner;
  • You speak and write English fluently, and preferably Dutch;
  • You have strong social- and communication skills;
  • You are hospitable and service-minded without losing sight of commercial targets;
  • Preferably, you have experience with HMS Infor and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Preferably, you have a hospitality management/sales/communications education or relevant working experience.

Wie ben jij?

Je bent van nature gastvrij, en je bent spontaan en professioneel. Je service met een glimlach bevordert de gast zijn ervaring, maar je persoonlijkheid maakt het een verblijf om nooit te vergeten. Je bent niet verlegen, en stapt op de gasten af om een connectie te maken. Telkens laat je een indruk achter die de gasten bij blijven. Je gevoel voor gastvrijheid beperkt zich niet tot gasten, je bouwt een band op met je collega’s en helpt ze waar nodig. Verder heb je de volgende persoonlijke eigenschappen:

  • Je begrijpt als geen ander wat een gast wil, en handelt daar proactief naar.
  • Je spreekt vloeiend Engels, en bij voorkeur Nederlands
  • Je hebt sterke sociale en communicatieve vaardigheden
  • Je bent gastvrij en doet alles voor de gast, zonder het commerciële aspect uit het oog te verliezen
  • Je hebt kennis van musea, uitgaansmogelijkheden en toeristische mogelijkheden in de omgeving
