Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a creative software engineer who is ready to take on the challenge working on a crucial service that is the foundation of our cloud environment.
Roles and responsibilities
You will be part of a DevOps team consisting of highly skilled software engineers with infrastructure knowledge. We want to extend this team (consists of micro teams) with excellent software development skills and accelerate the development of Java based microservices.
You will design and (peer) program together with your scrum (micro) team while making use of state of the art tools & technology. Are you a software development potential that is not afraid to learn new things rapidly (software development & infrastructure), gets out of his/her comfort zone easily and wants to deliver an important contribution to the foundation of ING's IT stack? The team
For our internal private cloud, we are in search for a senior back-end developer to help us develop and improve infrastructure deployment workflows. Workflows automate provisioning and second day operations of personalized infrastructure such as virtual machines, storage, networking (including load-balancer and firewall rules).
What we are looking for:
Software development expertise in Java (11 or higher) Understanding of unit tests, static/dynamic code scanning, artifact management Experience in building scalable microservices Experience with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud Working with GIT & CI/CD pipelines Agile/Scrum experience Experience in reactive programming Experience with hosting platforms such as Openshift, PCF, Kubernetes. Experience with other automation tools like Puppet, Chef, Salt stack or Ansible Experience in other coding or scripting tools like Python, Bash, JavaScript Certifications or proven proficiency in Networking, Virtualization and/or Security How to succeed: The mindset of openness and willingness to try new ways of working and technologies End-to-end ownership mindset Active team player who takes responsibility Independent and autonomous in completing tasks The mentality of continuous improvement of the service and way of working Reflects upon behaviours and performance to proactively identify improvement areas Strong problem solver to structure and improve complex situations Coaches others to help their individual development Professional and intellectual IT ability at least a bachelor's degree Certifications or proven proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages Excellent command of spoken and written English Rewards & benefitsRewards and benefits
