Job Description

Vattenfall is currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer with expertise in designing foundations for offshore wind turbines to join our team. As a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer at Vattenfall, your main responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge geotechnical designs within the industry, ensuring safe and optimized structures to drive towards fossil freedom.

Your role will involve not only project development but also spearheading innovative solutions, creating new business approaches, and collaborating with communities and the environment. Qualifications

You will:

  • Offer technical guidance to project teams on geotechnical design matters
  • Develop and implement geotechnical design processes
  • Engage in research initiatives to keep abreast of industry advancements
  • Lead foundation design tasks, especially monopile foundations using PLAXIS and in-house tools
  • Conduct foundation installation analyses using diverse tools
  • Create geotechnical design reports and project-related documents
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as structural and site investigation teams

Preferred qualifications:

  • A master's degree in Civil Engineering specialized in geotechnical studies
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
  • Expertise in offshore foundation design, particularly in monopile design
  • Proficiency in software like PLAXIS for foundation design
  • Programming skills in MatLab and Python for software design interfaces
  • A proactive mindset, taking ownership of tasks for timely delivery
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV, ISO)
  • Strong communication abilities in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
