Industry Service Business Manager

As our Industry Service business Manager you will directly lead a team of Service Area Managers and indirectly manage a team of Industry Support Coordinators and Spare Parts coordinators. You are responsible for the achievement of the set Commercial Service Sales and growth targets, for Marel's Meat Division. In this role you will be a member of the Division Leadership Team for Service and you will be expected to attend and contribute to the success of your team's objectives.


Main tasks:

  • Develop and manage a short and long-term plan for the commercial development of Marel Meat Service
  • Deploy the agreed plan that lead to successful achievement of all goals
  • Manage and motivate a commercial team, direct sales and supporting roles
  • Ensure effectiveness of the team by applying both global processes and (local) best practices within the sales teamEnsure that all business intelligence and opportunity management data is up to date like CRM, customer reports, installed base and sales reportsEnsure a close collaboration with the Global division/regional commercial teams and responsible to ensure commercial escalation is done as agreed
  • Ensure that the Customer experience with Marel is always at high levels, and that all customer touchpoints are aligned.
  • Develop and maintain the relationship with customers, through own frequent on site visits
  • Managing and maintain pipeline of opportunities, their status, and follow up activities, as it relates to customers
  • Collect and analyze competitive pressures and develop winning strategies
  • Proactively assist in building an overview of the competitive landscape and add information to the competitor file
  • Seek support from industry/regional teams and escalate as necessary, according to defined process and time

What kind of a person are you?
The position demands individuals with analytical skills, who can promote effective performance through good management, strategic thinking, communication, motivation, and project management. Furthermore you recognize yourself in the profile below:

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and/or Business Administration or similar preferred
  • Experience in Service concepts and Products
  • A naturally outgoing individual with a profound ability to interact with customers and teams alike
  • Has strong people management skills and is self-motivated
  • 5 years' experience of Sales Management of capital goods or specific aftermarket Sales Management roles and a strong desire to lead a team of customer facing staff
  • Analytic as well as results driven and goal oriented person
  • Experience with and comfort working in multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization is an advantage
