Description

Head of Galileo System Security Implementation Unit in the Galileo System Security Service, Galileo Project Office, Galileo Programme Department, Directorate of Navigation.

The Galileo System Security Service is in charge of security-related activities for the Galileo core infrastructure, including end-to-end system security engineering, the design and development of Galileo public regulated service (PRS) infrastructure, security accreditation and cyber security.

The Galileo System Security Implementation Unit is responsible for segment security requirements implementation and the system security qualification of the Galileo core infrastructure.

Duties

You will report to the Head of the Galileo System Security Service and your main tasks and responsibilities will involve:

  • monitoring the correct implementation of the system security requirements at all levels (i.e. Component, Element, Segment);
  • providing dedicated support to the Ground Segment Procurement Office (NAV-PT) and the Space Segment Procurement Office (NAV-PS) in the areas of segment security engineering, qualification and procurement of security-related infrastructure;
  • supporting the procurement of security equipment on board satellites and within the ground segments;
  • maintaining the technical (functional, performance and operational) security requirements, applicable to the procurement of the overall system infrastructure, namely the space and ground segments, ensuring their overall traceability;
  • coordinating the segment review for security aspects;
  • providing dedicated support to the Galileo System AIV and Deployment service (NAV-PGD), in the areas of system security activities, performing the system qualification of the system security requirements;
  • performing the system verification of classified functions and requirements, including execution of system test campaigns and close follow-up of the segment-level test campaigns;
  • contributing to the definition of the migration strategy for each system build and its associated system deployment plan;
  • supporting the exploitation CCBs for the system in operation implementing the ESA role of System Design Authority;
  • handling the procurement and maintenance/evolution of the Security Chain Test Bench and Galileo System Filling Device;
  • managing the team, ensuring a positive and motivating working environment, distributing and assigning tasks to the team members, monitoring and managing performance and providing timely and regular feedback to the team and to the Head of the Galileo System Security Service.

Your duties may also include supporting other activities within your field of competence and the transfer of knowledge across the Agency.

You will also be responsible for identifying, assessing, managing and reporting the health and safety risks in your area of responsibility.

In principle, recruitment will be within the advertised grade band (A2-A4). However, if the selected candidate has less than four years of relevant professional experience following the completion of the master's degree, the position may be filled at A1 level.
