For a rapidly growing engineering organization, we are seeking an experienced Sr Metallurgical Engineer to support major FEED and EPC projects across the refinery, petrochemical, & chemical sectors. This role sits within a highly skilled engineering group known for delivering end-to-end solutions and driving innovation across complex industrial programs. Responsibilities Lead metallurgical assessments & provide expert guidance throughout FEED & EPC phases. Select materials of construction and corrosion allowances for equipment, piping, & fittings. Prepare & maintain Material Selection Reports & Material Selection Diagrams. Provide expertise in corrosion control, prevention, monitoring, & mitigation. Contribute to design reviews & ensure technically sound materials selection. Develop metallurgical specifications, welding procedures, & material criteria. Evaluate vendor proposals, review certifications, & ensure compliance with project requirements. Conduct failure analyses & recommend corrective actions. Review test plans, inspection procedures, & participate in critical fabrication inspections. Monitor performance of installed equipment & develop mitigation strategies. Mentor junior engineers & collaborate across process, mechanical, & construction disciplines. Abilities Fluent in English with strong documentation & communication skills. Deep expertise in metallurgy, materials selection, corrosion mechanisms, & mitigation. Knowledge of API, ASME, ASTM, AMPP/NACE, & EN ISO standards. Proven FEED/EPC project experience in large industrial environments. Skilled in MS Office and industry-standard engineering tools. Strong leadership, coordination, & cross-disciplinary collaboration abilities. Qualifications ~10+ years of metallurgical engineering experience in refinery, petrochemical, or chemical projects. ~ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a closely related subject. ~ Professional certifications (e.g., NACE, API 571) are advantageous. ~ Eligibility to work in the EU/Netherlands is desirable.
