About us
Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld (onderdeel van de Damen Shipyards Group) ontwikkelt en verkoopt overwegend Tugs en Workboats. De casco’s hiervan worden op voorraad geproduceerd en vervolgens klantspecifiek gemaakt. Wij bieden service tijdens de levenscyclus aan alle soorten schepen en voeren reparaties uit aan staalwerk of apparatuur aan boord in geval van schade of storing. Bij Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld staat een persoonlijke benadering centraal.

The role

Als Design & Proposal Engineer zorg je voor de behandeling van de aanvraag van de klant door het maken van complete scheepsvoorontwerpen en bepalen van de kostprijs van de bouw van het schip, zodanig dat het ontwerp voldoet aan gestelde klant- en classificatie eisen en de kostprijs zo laag mogelijk is. Je zal werkzaam zijn op de afdeling Design & Proposal Engineering en werkt nauw samen met de Manager van de D&P afdeling, Directie en de afdelingen Engineering, Inkoop en Project Management. De commercieel manager zorgt voor de commerciële afhandeling.

Key accountabilities

  • Het ontwerpen en aanpassen van schepen aan de hand van de eisen/criteria van de klant, regelgeving en op basis van standaardontwerpen;

  • Het opstellen van het algemeen plan, technische specificaties, kostprijs calculatie, leveringstermijn, aanbieding en presentatie aan de klant;

  • Het optimaliseren van (standaard) ontwerpen, zodat de kostprijs verlaagt wordt en de kwaliteit, betrouwbaarheid en functionaliteit van de schepen verhoogd kan worden;

  • Het voeren van overleg met klanten en diverse Damen afdelingen en externe partijen (o.a. engineers en onderaannemers) om tot een geoptimaliseerd ontwerp te komen;

  • Afdeling marketing ondersteunen met het aanleveren van materiaal voor persberichten, brochures en websites.

Skills & Experience

  • Afgeronde MBO 4/ HBO opleiding richting Scheepsbouw/ Werktuigbouw;

  • Werkervaring met Engineering in de Scheepsbouw;

  • Goede beheersing van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord en geschrift;

  • Je bent klantgericht, zowel intern als extern, communicatief vaardig, kunt goed prioriteiten stellen en werkt efficiënt.
