Lead Credit ControllerFull time | AmstelveenLet's Talk About The RoleAs Lead Credit Control Manager within the local Finance team in the Netherlands, you will be responsible for leading, supporting, and supervising credit control activities. This includes managing day-to-day operations, reporting, process improvements, and playing a key role in integration activities following a recent merger.You will oversee a team dedicated to the efficient collection of premiums and processing of claims payments, ensuring strong financial controls and proactive stakeholder collaboration. Your role will directly support the broader goal of minimising credit risk, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining high-quality financial service delivery across the business.On a Day-to-day Basis You WillLead and oversee day-to-day credit control operations and ledger management.Ensure timely and accurate collection of premiums and processing of claims payments.Prepare and review regular reports on debt levels, unallocated cash, and trends.Maintain and update internal procedures and ensure compliance with controls (ICF/J-SOX).Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives, including merger integration.Coordinate with internal teams (claims, policy admin, finance, IT) and external stakeholders (brokers, clients).Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and substantiation files.Identify and manage credit control risks, escalating issues where necessary.Lead and support internal and external audit processes.Promote a strong control environment and a culture of continuous improvement.Perform quality checks to ensure accurate and reliable financial data is produced.Support calculation and tracking of bad debt provisions and litigation-related items.Ensure timely processing and matching of incoming payments in bank statements.Monitor and report on items under review or backlog, driving resolution where needed.Contribute to cross-functional projects and transformation initiatives across finance.Who are we looking for?Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.Solid experience in credit control within financial services; insurance background preferred.Strong understanding of accounting principles, controls, and financial operations.Skilled in Excel and able to analyse complex financial data effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working across teams.Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong organisational skills.Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor team members.Comfortable working in an international environment with English as the business language.Familiarity with audit processes, financial control frameworks, and regulatory requirements.High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure during peak periods.What could you expect from us?Continuous learning and development opportunitiesA great team and supportive colleaguesA flexible working environmentWorking in a dynamic, growing, and international companyA role with a strong focus on entrepreneurship, initiative, and personal developmentAbout UsIn an uncertain world, we believe trust is built through consistency, care, and genuine collaboration.
