What You Will Be Doing Maintaining and demonstrating deep expertise in education products to inform strategic decisions Creating technical specifications that drive important technical decisions while prioritizing simplicity, efficiency, and long-term sustainability Deploying generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering processes, in alignment with the strategic goal of minimizing manual labor What You Won’t Be Doing Pure people management; this position relies critically on your business and technical expertise Spending your time in meetings, committees, and administrative overhead; we have automated management tasks so you can focus on delivering business value through hands-on contributions High-level strategies lacking implementation detail; your recommendations must be grounded in product-level insights Vice President Of Product Engineering Key Responsibilities Function as the CTO of one or more education products, owning core competencies and generating business value through seamless execution and strategic decision-making Basic Requirements Deep experience or interest in data-driven learning science 7+ years of experience making the important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open source technologies 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS) 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue-generating product Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be.
