Global Payments Solutions (GPS) is one of HSBC's global product lines generating over 10% of Group revenues. Supporting Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking (GB), our business is made up of almost 10,000 people in more than 60 countries and territories and is uniquely positioned to help clients make and receive payments, across borders and regulations, in multiple currencies. Our expertise in this area has been recognized by the industry's most prominent publications as the best global Cash Manager for corporate and financial institutions in consecutive years.

The GPS Country Head is responsible for proactively managing and driving HSBC's Cash Management activities for Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking (GB) clients to position HSBC as the top provider of such services in each customer segment within The Netherlands. The candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the Group's overall regional cash management strategy and implement the regional strategic direction for the cash management business in-country with a view of achieving maximum profitability and growth.

This is a key role requiring the candidate to plan, direct and control all aspects of the business, to ensure that an integrated, professional and competitive service is available to the Group's commercial, corporate and institutional customers, with a specific emphasis on Regional Treasury Centres (RTCs) based in the country. The Netherlands GPS business is a high growth business within Europe.

The GPS Country Head of The Netherlands will be responsible for working with key stakeholders to develop and implement a strategy in support of the client segments in these markets. Key challenges will be to enhance HSBC's liquidity and cash management position whilst balancing and prioritizing new product launches. This is also expected to be a customer-facing role which focuses on profit enhancements for HSBC.

What you will do:

·Drive and deliver revenue and Profit Before Tax (PBT) growth in line with customer needs and maximise the financial contribution of the GPS business in The Netherlands.

·Lead the execution of the GPS global strategy in The Netherlands to ensure an optimal balance of Net Fee Income (NFI) and Net Interest Income (NII).

·Proactively manage costs, and achieve and exceed key performance indicators whilst building a sustainable business model.

·Drive the delivery of a comprehensive and competitive suite of payments and cash management solutions, delivered through a range of delivery channels by executing a commercially focused product management strategy, which aligns with the propositional requirements of the Customer Groups.

·Lead the development and execution of a high quality client-centric culture that delivers superior pre- and post-sales support to clients across the range of GPS products in The Netherlands.

·Position HSBC as the market-leading provider of liquidity, payments and cash management services in The Netherlands by developing an appropriate marketing strategy.

·Lead the creation of appropriate operating budgets for the country and track performance against MTOs, ROPs and Performance Scorecards whilst ensuring strategic alignment with Global and Regional imperatives.

·Take responsibility for running a regional and country-compliant GPS business which meets changing regulatory requirements and ensures reputational risk impact is mitigated / minimised.

·Actively engage with local IT teams and Regional GPS to ensure that GPS's requirements are factored into planned systems development/rollout without compromising current product/channels functionalities.

·Represent GPS at local governance committees and forums and act as an GPS champion to ensure that key objectives are prioritised appropriately with GB and CMB stakeholders.

In this role you will:

·Lead and manage a team of sales, implementation and product management professionals.

·Be accountable for all local governance including maintaining strong engagement with risk stewards as part of our risk management agenda.

·Drive efficiencies: streamlining processes and appropriate oversight of GPS owned outsourced activities.

·Manage stakeholders: working with coverage partners and senior GPS stakeholders to align and deliver on key group strategic initiatives at local level.

·Manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency.

·Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across GPS to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise.

·Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of GPS management information, analysis and reporting framework in-country that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.

·Lead the implementation and oversight of GPS policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards in-country to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.

·Communicate a clear vision for the GPS business that is aligned to the overall HSBC vision, values and goals, and inspire and engage people to create an inclusive, high performing, customer-centred culture.

·Lead, develop and motivate the team to attract, retain and develop the capacity, capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of business objectives.

·Set expectations, share best practice and manage, monitor, coach and develop team members and others to ensure that they maximise their performance, meet the required standards, and continuously develop their capabilities and experience.

·Lead and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management and challenging actions and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.
