About the Role:

Our dedicated logistics and customer services teams, based in the Netherlands, are very important to achieve success, and responsible for delivering our toys and games to retailers in Europe.

In this role, you'll manage these teams and explore the full potential of our new and very modern third-party logistics warehouse. With an inventory spanning tens of thousands of pallets, and a wide network of partners, your experience will be used in ensuring smooth and efficient shipments throughout Europe.

Responsibilities Overview:

The European Operations Director will have two primary areas of responsibility: Logistics Operations & Customer Service Management.

Logistics Operations:

  • Oversee the in-house logistics team, ensuring streamlined operations.
  • Maintain productive relationships with external Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers and carriers.
  • Implement cost-effective strategies in operational processes.
  • Enhance operational management systems, processes, and best practices in logistics.
  • Conduct quality controls and manage logistics KPIs.
  • Supervise 3PL operations for efficient order processing and transportation planning.
  • Handle inbound and outbound shipping, warehouse, and inventory management.
  • Oversee international import/export and customs compliance.
  • Manage relationships and negotiate with couriers, 3PL, manufacturers, and co-packers.

Customer Service Management:

  • Lead the customer service team to ensure high-quality service and efficiency.
  • Develop strategies to improve customer service performance and satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with the sales and finance teams for effective management of credit-related issues.
  • Oversee sales order management, returns, and charge-backs.
  • Facilitate direct communication with customers.
  • Monitor and achieve customer service KPIs.

General Responsibilities:

  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
  • Analyze financial data to improve profitability.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff in both logistics and customer service departments.
  • Mentor team members, ensuring their professional development.
  • Proven experience in logistics and customer service management.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage teams.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Hands-on mentality.
  • Education at HBO+ level, with a background in logistics.
