Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will focus on identifying and cultivating business opportunities in the industrial, automotive, telecom, hardware, and digital technology sectors. This role requires a strong background in sales, technical knowledge of automotive systems, hardware solutions, and digital technologies, along with the ability to collaborate with Sasken's R&D teams to deliver tailored solutions to clients. The position is based in the Netherlands, France, or the UK, and will involve frequent interaction with regional and global partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Strategy: Design and implement strategic business development plans to expand Sasken's market presence in the industrial, automotive, telecommunications, hardware, and digital sectors.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct detailed market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, potential partners, and new business opportunities across target sectors.
  • Lead Generation & Client Engagement: Identify, target, and engage with key decision-makers, including OEMs, hardware manufacturers, technology providers, telecom operators, and digital enterprises. Build long-term relationships to secure business partnerships.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth: Manage the sales process from lead generation to contract closure. Achieve or surpass sales targets and contribute to Sasken's revenue growth in Europe.
  • Partnership Development: Develop strategic alliances with industry leaders, academic institutions, and R&D partners to enhance Sasken's capabilities and market reach.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply a deep understanding of automotive, industrial, hardware, telecom, and digital technologies to tailor Sasken's offerings to client needs. Effectively communicate complex technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with R&D Teams: Work closely with Sasken's R&D teams to align new product developments, including hardware innovations, with customer needs. Provide market insights to support the development of innovative solutions.
  • Reporting & Performance Tracking: Maintain comprehensive records of sales activities, client interactions, and market performance. Provide regular updates and reports on business development progress to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Experience in business development or sales within the industrial, automotive, telecom, hardware, or digital technology sectors.
  • Strong technical understanding of automotive systems, hardware solutions, telecommunications, and digital technologies.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in relevant sectors.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in working with R&D teams to convert technical innovations, including hardware, into commercial opportunities.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with a proactive and strategic approach to business development.
  • Ability to travel across Europe and occasionally globally.
