Our client is a well-established boutique consultancy with a strong foundation in Finance, Risk, and Data Management. As they expand into Treasury, ALM, and Capital Markets, they are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead their Model Validation team. They provide end-to-end services, focusing on regulatory and strategic transformations for CFOs, CROs, and CDOs.

As a Senior Manager of Model Validation , you will lead the independent review and validation of models developed in the Treasury, ALM, and Capital Markets space, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and robustness. You will manage a team of validators and collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure models align with regulatory requirements and business needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of model validators, providing oversight on validation processes and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Model Validation : Oversee validation of behavioural models, interest rate risk models, and capital adequacy models, among others, ensuring compliance with Basel regulations and internal policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure models meet regulatory standards (e.g., Basel III/IV, IFRS9) and provide clear documentation for regulators and internal stakeholders.
  • Risk Management : Perform stress testing, backtesting, and scenario analysis to assess model performance under various market conditions.
  • Business Development : Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new validation opportunities, participating in client pitches, and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration : Work closely with model developers, IT teams, and business units to ensure effective implementation of validated models.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Engage with senior leadership and clients to provide expert insights on model validation results and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements :

  • Education : Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Econometrics).
  • Experience : 8-10+ years of experience in model validation or risk management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Expertise : Strong experience in validating models such as non-maturity deposits, and capital models (e.g., Operational Risk, IRRBB), and using techniques like logistic regression, random forests, and unsupervised learning.
  • Regulatory Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks (Basel III/IV, IFRS9) and stress testing standards.
  • Leadership & Team Management : Proven experience in managing teams and driving successful validation projects.
  • Business Development Skills : Ability to engage with clients, identify new validation projects, and contribute to business growth.
  • Fluency in Dutch is preferred, though not mandatory.
