About the role:
The People and Culture, Organization Director will be in charge of People and Culture, Organization strategy for Dutch operations. The People and Culture team is split into 3 pillars:
- Quality; front office - People and Culture Business partners and Case management.
- Finance; back office - The Manager Shared service is responsible together with the data and analytics specialist, Payroll controller and P&C support admin team.
- Social; L&D, Recruitment and Communication.
Organizational structure:
Reporting to: This role will be reporting to the Managing Director, Netherlands directly and dotted line to the Regional People and Culture Business Partner. Direct reports: 3 Direct Reports and 20+ People and Culture, Organization headcount
Priorities for the next 2 years:

Scope:
The Netherlands HMSHost F&B business is split between two legal entities. Currently HMSHost can be found across the Netherlands. Our primary channels are airports, malls, and train stations. The first entity is HMSHost Schiphol. This entity main focus is on the Food & Beverage business at Schiphol airport. Schiphol is the largest part of the HMSHost International business portfolio. Currently we occupy 80% of the Food & Beverage space at the airport. There are approximately 2000 employees working in the units. During peak season this number can double in size. The management team is part of this entity. The second entity - HMSHost Netherlands - has been set up for all other activities outside of Schiphol. We have 50 locations across multiple channels (e.g. Roermond shopping outlet, various train stations, Rotterdam Airport, Hoog Catharijne railway station). Our more well-known brands in this group are Burger King, Backwerk, Broodzaak, and Treck. There are over 1000 associates located in this entity. This number changes during peak season. This role sits on the management team of the Netherlands and is often asked to consult with the Regional Managing. The position connects into the People Organization and Culture Center of Excellence to make sure core POC programming is being carried out. The incumbent will also play a vital role in the interfacing with our work's council.
Key accountabilities:
- Being a business partner for the General Manager and the management team of the Netherlands.
- Leading the People and Culture, Organization and team for HMSHost Netherlands.
- Building and maintaining a strong relationship with the Dutch Work council. In this role you will be the spokesperson together with the GM for HMSHost NL. This could include preparing request for advice where needed.
- Translate/localize strategy which is coming from the Global organization.
- Implement global projects and localizing them to meet local requirements.
- Being able to navigate in a matrix organization, with a vertical set up (global, regional, subregional and country level, with different stakeholders.

What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 10 years progressive human resources generalist experience with more than five years at senior management level in a high-volume environment within F&B, hospitality and/retail field.
- Dutch language a must, fluent in English.
- P&L knowledge and effects of labor costs.
- Experience working with the NL Work Councils.
- Stakeholder management skills.
- Diplomacy.
- People management / development skills.
- Being able to translate/localize strategic decision.
- Ownership for development and management of annual budget.
