Financial Controls and Reporting Manager

Altum Consulting are supporting a global media brand to recruit a Financial Controls and Reporting Manager. This role supports global stakeholders gain financial insights to make decisions, deliver support across a constant flow of new projects, collaborating with some of the worlds most valuable network of international clients.

We're looking for someone to take a prominent role in Financial Reporting and Financial Control for the Netherlands based business, feeding into supportive roles for the global network of brands within the company. This is a great opportunity to combine financial controls experience with having a meaningful and strategic impact on the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review and analyse consolidation files, ensuring accuracy of adjustments and eliminations.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and take ownership of the balance sheet.
  • Prepare monthly Group balance sheet reports, providing insightful commentary on variances, working capital, and cash flow.
  • Develop and maintain cash and working capital forecasts.
  • Provide general support to the Finance & Control department.

Financial Control / Compliance / Tax:

  • Lead the year-end audit process for consolidated financial statements.
  • Prepare audit documentation and liaise with external auditors.
  • Prepare individual financial statements for non-consolidated entities (holdings, etc.).
  • Participate in local and international projects to improve financial control frameworks.
  • Provide guidance on financial technical matters.
  • Manage VAT and corporate income tax filings.
  • Monitor and enhance the Internal Control Framework.

Business Partnering / Commercial:

  • Work closely with the Finance Director to establish a best in class financial reporting function, involving bringing the finance team closer to the operational areas of the business.
  • Support global teams in operations, sales, shared services, being able to manage key relationships across a global team,
  • Apply strategic thinking to process and delivery improvement, fostering a culture of 'value-add' with the finance team and their critical partners.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Financial qualification; RA, CA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in financial audits, either as an auditor or financial controller.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and consolidation/reporting tools (e.g., SAP BPC, or similar).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar financial control role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English, or work experience within a Dutch based finance team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and results-oriented approach.
