Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager Valuations on behalf of our client to oversee the valuation process for a growing and diverse investment portfolio. This role will involve the development, maintenance, and enhancement of valuation processes and policies in alignment with external statutory guidance and industry best practices. The Manager will collaborate closely with key internal and external stakeholders, including investment teams and central departments, to ensure consistent and accurate valuations across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Valuation Process Management: Develop, update, and manage the valuation process and related documentation, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and statutory guidelines.
- Internal Control Oversight: Manage and maintain internal control procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and continuously improving the effectiveness of the control environment.
- Financial Modelling: Design, build, and maintain financial models to accurately value the direct investment portfolio, incorporating robust controls and governance mechanisms.
- Process Improvement: Drive improvements within the Valuations division, ensuring that processes are , efficient, and consistent as the department grows.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Define and implement data collection requirements to ensure that all relevant and accurate information is captured for monitoring and valuing portfolio companies.
- Model and Process Optimization: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance valuation models and update processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Communication: Collect, review, and report company, investment, and portfolio-level valuation information. Prepare comprehensive reports for quarterly valuation meetings and actively contribute to discussions.
- External Auditor Liaison: Serve as the key point of contact for external auditors, ensuring smooth collaboration and resolution of any valuation-related inquiries.
Education & Experience:
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or a related field.
- A formal qualification such as CFA, CPA, CA, RA, RC, ACA, or equivalent is highly advantageous.
- 5+ years of professional experience, ideally with a background in a Big 4 firm.
- Experience in both Audit and Transaction Services teams is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to independently manage complex tasks.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small, entrepreneurial team environment.
