Manager Sales Operations Improvement - BASF | Nunhems - Location Nunhem

YOUR JOB:

In this job you will lead the improvement of the performance and efficiency of key processes related to Commercial Operations (Sales Forecasting, Business Steering, Budgeting, Order Management, Complaint Management, etc.) through the right setup of processes, systems, and structural implementation in the organization (training, coaching, monitoring, etc.). You will ensure related systems (SAP IBP, SAP S/4HANA, etc.) are set up and maintained adequately to support the above processes. Also you support the implementation of AP standard processes in close cooperation with the Business Process Expert OtC and ensure embedment in the organization. You also monitor changes to processes and systems that come from outside but will impact Commercial Operations and ensure adequate change management and implementation.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Improve the performance and efficiency of key processes related to Commercial Operations (Sales Forecasting, Business Steering, Budgeting, Order Management, etc.) through the right setup of processes, systems, and structural implementation in the organization (training, coaching, monitoring, etc.).

  • Act as an ambassador and change catalyst in M&S to ensure the right mindset is in place to support and embrace the change needed for improvement on process performance and efficiency (cost versus service, standardization, automation, etc.)
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, guiding the Commercial Operations and Sales teams through changes in processes and tools – also leveraging new technologies and trends
  • Monitor the performance and efficiency of key processes in Commercial Operations through a KPI scorecard and process dashboard
  • Indicate areas of improvement on performance and/or efficiency and translate these into an improvement roadmap, and execute accordingly
  • Drive improvement of systems with the respective Business Process Experts and Digital Officers
  • Ensure, coordinate, and/or organize adequate training and coaching in M&S to allow for continuous improvement
  • Provide actionable insights to stakeholders for driving change and improvement in their respective teams that impact the CO process performance (for example a Sales Forecasting dashboard for Country Managers)
  • Organize the community of Business Process Experts and key-users within Commercial Operations to ensure cross-process alignment and learning

Ensure related systems (SAP IBP, SAP S/4HANA, SnF, Multi-crop table, etc.) are set up and maintained adequately to support the above processes.

  • Establish close alignment with other functions in the organization (Demand Planning, Regional/Global Supply Chain Management, Master Data Management, etc.) on the above processes and systems
  • Translate the needs of M&S into requirements for systems, tools, and dashboards
  • Coordinate proper translation of the M&S organization (roles and positions) into user groups and authorizations for the above-mentioned systems (user setup and management)
  • Where applicable, ensure that relevant interfaces between and into the above-mentioned systems are in place, maintained, and function correctly from a data integrity perspective
  • Where applicable, provide user support with the team (e.g. for SAP IBP in cooperation with the Demand Planning team)

Support the implementation of AP standard processes in close cooperation with the Business Process Expert OtC and ensure embedment in the organization.

  • Build and maintain a relation with the Business Process Experts (AP and APV level) and Global Process Owners
  • Where applicable, ensure that system and process improvements are well aligned with the global design and definition of processes and systems
  • Support the implementation of AP standard processes within Commercial Operations

Monitor changes to processes and systems that come from outside but will impact Commercial Operations and ensure adequate change management and implementation.

  • Monitor changes in any business process and/or system that may impact Commercial Operations
  • Ensure that planned process and/or system changes are aligned, prioritized, prepared, and implemented adequately for / within Commercial Operations
  • All tasks executed in this role are in line with the relevant local Law and the applicable BASF EHS-and RC-requirements.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Education: Master level (e.g. business admin.).
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in preferably an international company.
  • Process knowledge: Basic knowledge of business management, supply chain, operations, and logistics processes. Experience with analysis and monitoring tools, e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
  • Organizational knowledge: Awareness about organizational structures in APV and BASF, influential on key stakeholders.
  • IT knowledge: Basic knowledge of Microsoft standard applications, ERP (Movex M3 / SAP S/4HANA).
  • Language: Fluent in English verbal and written language. Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Communication & presentation: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders like end-users, key-users, global process owners and management.
  • Project management: Experience in leading improvement initiatives and projects. Ability to manage own workload, set priorities and regular reporting of progress to stakeholders. Change management skills.
  • Global mindset: Understanding of global, regional and country dynamics in M&S, including cultural nuances.
  • Customer-Centricity: A strong commitment to enhancing the customer and business partner experience.
  • Innovation mindset: Innovative mindset and affinity to new digital developments.
