**About the job**

The Business Development Office (BDO) steers the IB’s efforts to grow the IB brand in line with its mission of increasing access to education for students around the world. The BDO comprises Business Development and Conferences, Communications and Marketing, Digital Assessment, Global Recognition, IBEC and Product Strategy (GRIPS). Within GRIPS, the Product Strategy sub-team seeks to align the IB’s products and services for the future, increasing access to the IB’s philosophies and pedagogy to students across the globe.

The role will work with colleagues across the IB global offices to help bring new programme adaptations to the market that will contribute to the further reach of the IB. In addition to new programme adaptations, the role supports the planning of where and how to position, price, bundle and adapt the programmes to changing market circumstances in order to deliver against the IB’s Strategic Plan.

The role contributes to research and creation of business cases for both new products and services, and enhancements of existing ones. The role ensures the representation of the school voice and translates the ideation and definition of the product into delivery and ongoing iterative improvement.

**Role and responsibilities**

**Programme Adaptations and Positioning**
- Understand common complaints/concerns from the target market and work internally across the IB to create solutions for problems that need solving or innovations to implement.
- Work closely with the Finance, Development and Business Intelligence teams to leverage market research and information to identify and analyze prospective Programme adaptations and alternative positioning.
- Support the adaptation and positioning changes which includes: regional or value-based pricing, differentiation among and between IB programmes based on market needs, implementation supports or modifications to ease market access while maintaining quality and fidelity
- Be responsible for the ideation, socialization and development of business cases and financial modelling, which is then presented to the leadership team and board, in order to gain approval for projects.

**Accountable for the launch of new products**
- Support the creation and implementation of the go-to-market strategy including necessary content creation, internal communication and product launch, to enable the development managers outward market focus
- Support the piloting, prior to launch, to help verify that the IB, its product and the audience are ready for launch.
- Be responsible for the internal change management programme of works which will permit a sucessful implementation of each project, as well as tracking the successes and lessons learned.

**Continuous Improvement Culture**
- Work closely with Development (sales), Recognition, Marketing, Schools Operations, Learning & Teaching and Assessment to help ensure the understanding of the need for proposed product adaptations and alternative positioning and work together as necessary to deliver the changes
- Work closely with the Programme owners within the Learning & Teaching department to ensure that fundamental Programme-related opportunities and improvements, identified through the learnings and observations, are shared and understood.

**About you**

**Knowledge and experience**
- A bachelor level degree and/or equivalent professional qualification
- Prior experience working with organizations that provides education products and/or services
- Product strategy and product management experience including: pricing, positioning and differentiation
- Experience of working with product development sales and support teams
- Knowledge of and demonstrable experience with project management, including internal change management to embed proposed changes.
- Strong analytical skills and a solid business acumen
- An appetite to learn and innovate, be resourceful and creative
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, proven skills in influencing others as well as consultative skills
