**The job**

As a Quantitative Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing and extracting signals from structured and unstructured datasets to support and improve Cefetra's decision-making in agricultural commodity markets. From weather, physical flows, politics, currencies to global price data, your job will be to separate the signal from the noise, all of which will be published on our research platform, Ceras Analytics. You will work closely with a small group of quantitative analysts and data engineers, but also with traders, market research and risk management. In this role, the quantitative analyst is reporting to the Head of the Quantitative Trading & Research Desk, Dick van Antwerpen.

Key Responsibilities
- Build (and improve our current) quantitative models to forecast fundamental market drivers (e.g. crop production, demand forecasting);
- Build price forecasting models to identify trade opportunities, but also to signal risks within the current company positioning;
- Provide our traders with quantitative analysis, using e.g. physical price analysis and money flow analysis, to improve timing and positioning;
- Improving our research platform (Ceras Analytics) with the output you generate from your models.

**Who you are**

You have a deep passion for programming, particularly with a focus on automating operations. Your role demands a flexible approach, skillfully blending pragmatism with precision. We particularly value and emphasize advanced programming skills in our collaborative environment, strengthening our current team. To be successful within Cefetra, it is important to have a ‘self-starter’ mentality, be open minded and curious. You can work both independently and with people from all layers within the entire Cefetra Group. I In addition, you can identify with the following requirements:

- If you bring a first working experience in quantitative research and or within an internship this is a plus. But we’re also open to receive resumes from starters;
- You have finished your master and have demonstrable affinity with programming, preferable in Python.
- You have entrepreneurial understanding. With this we mean that you can relate to our core business of international trade. it's not only about 0's and 1's but about the best possible mix for People, Planet and Profit;
