As a Trade Assistant, you play an important role in the logistics administrative process of International Food Connectors. **About the role**
To expand our logistics team (9 colleagues), we are looking for a Trade Assistant. Our Traders focus on what they do best: buying and selling of commodities worldwide. The Logistics Team ensures a swift and timely shipping of the containers from our (international) suppliers to customers worldwide. As a Trade Assistant, you will take action once the containers are floating. It is your responsibility to ensure all export documentation is complete before the containers arrive at their destination.
- Supporting the Traders with various administrative tasks
- Preparing export documents (e.g. invoicing, certificate of origin, B/L)
- Online tracking of our shipments and taking action where needed
- Releasing containers after payment is received
- Drafting purchase and sales contracts
- Proactively contacting logistics providers and international customers
**About us**
You’ll become part of the international Logistics Team, collaborating with nine colleagues. Under the guidance of Chris Korthout (Manager Quality, Process management & Logistics), and María José Benedetty (Team Lead Documentation), you’ll work side by side with five Logistics Coordinators and a fellow Trader Assistant. You’ll also have regular, exciting interactions with our international traders, adding to the global flair of your role.
The International Food Connectors office currently has 30 colleagues spread across the departments of Trading, Logistics, HR, and Finance. With team members from diverse countries like Vietnam, China, Colombia, Spain, France, and Argentina, you’ll be part of a truly multicultural environment where English is the go-to language. This global, energetic vibe is what makes our workplace so special.
Our office is in a prime location in Rotterdam, Kop van Zuid, near the Erasmus Bridge. It has recently been expanded and offers plenty of space, comfortable workplaces, and opportunities to relax. The tram and metro stop right at the door, and there are various coffee bars, lunch spots, and supermarkets nearby.
**Our offer**
- A gross monthly salary of € 2,500 - € 3,500 (based on 40 hours), depending on your knowledge and experience + 8% holiday allowance
- Annual bonus up to 15%. This is 50% based on your performance and 50% on company results
- 25 holidays (based on 40 hours)
- Definite contract with the prospect of a permanent position
- Commuting allowance: € 0,23 per kilometer, or full reimbursement for second-class public transport
- Good pension benefits at a.s.r.
- A fulltime position where we work daily at our beautiful, recently renovated office in Rotterdam (Kop van Zuid)
**About you**
You can handle pressure well, manage fluctuating workloads, and easily adapt to working with different types of people and cultures. You are accurate, administratively strong, and socially skilled. Additionally, you have:
- Excellent command of English. Good command of Dutch is a plus.
- Secondary vocational education (e.g. STC, or Transport & Logistics)
- Experience or affinity with logistics and international trade
