Job description

The Innovation Management group at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) invites outstanding candidates to apply for a faculty position as assistant professor in innovation management. As a new faculty member, you join the group at the start of 2025 or at your earliest convenience.

Job requirements

We don't require you to start with all the answers; your journey at RSM involves continuous learning and knowledge development.

We are interested in you if you possess one or more of the following:

A completed PhD or one that you will defend in 2025 in management, organisation, strategy, organisational behaviour, marketing or a related field with a micro or macro perspective on creativity and/or innovation from a leading business school. Exceptional teaching skills that ignite enthusiasm in the classroom. A demonstrated potential for excellence in research by having papers published in or submitted to highly ranked journals. Full professional proficiency in English; proficiency in Dutch is a bonus.

Employment conditions and benefits

We offer you:

A strong research environment in an enthusiastic, international and prolific team. A research budget that covers conference participations, data collection and research assistance. Limited teaching load.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary and up to a maximum of 5,929.00 gross per month (scale 11 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.

Innovation Management is one of three critical business areas covered by the department of Technology and Operations Management and is focused on developing strategies, structures and processes to generate, select and implement innovations.

The group comprises around 20 faculty and PhD students. We teach our own master programme as well as in two of RSMs bachelor programmes and several of the schools full-time and part-time master and MBA programmes. Our specialised MSc in Innovation Management is among the top programmes of its kind in the world.

Department

Established in 1998, the department of Business-Society Management (B-SM) at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University was the first of its kind within a European business school. The B-SM Department offers a social science-based perspective on managerial and organizational issues at the interface between business and society. The department members conduct world class research on how organizations can engage in shared value creation, and how, rather than contributing to societys problems, organizations can be part of the solution. Staff of the department are involved in teaching at the under- and post-graduate level, including bachelor programmes, the full-time MBA and specialized and executive master programmes. The department also delivers the schools flagship Master programme on Global Business and Sustainability. The Master programme is one of the longest running programmes in the world in the area of business and society management and continues to deliver graduates that are in high demand in todays business world.
