**Position Summary**
The job is based in European Union (preferably Germany or the Netherlands) and categorised as hybrid/remote. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but is flexible based on need. This role would require upwards of 30% or more travel time with evening, night, and weekend work as needed.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients (customers and distributors) while actively seeking out and engaging new prospects.
- Identify market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to provide insights for product development and marketing strategies.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure seamless customer experiences.
- Provide product demonstrations, presentations, and technical support to clients as needed.
- Prepare and deliver accurate sales forecasts, reports, and budgets to management.
**Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes)**
- **EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS**_
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or related field
- **PREFERRED EXPERIENCE**_
- Advanced Degree preferred.
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in scientific sales, preferably in the animal behavioural instrumentation sector.
- Strong understanding of the scientific research market with the ability to comprehend and articulate technical product specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the EU region as required.
