**Background information**:
In ASML, a data analysis platform was implemented some time ago. The idea behind it is to provide a common analysis platform to stakeholders. ASML machines create large amounts of data in various formats. By means of plugins, different data formats can be made available in the metro analyzer. In the same way, plugins allow us to add analyzing capabilities to the platform.
Within the Metrology cluster, we combine and process data from many distinct parts from ASML Twin scans: Imaging, Overlay, Calibration, Set-up and Corrections for various effects. The Image Quality (IQC) team works on the exposure side for EUV scanners in co-operation with EUV projection and EUV sensors. The latest diagnostics data have to be accessed through metro-analyzer plugins to enable quick analysis. Different stakeholders need to dissect the machines' behavior and performance at various calibration steps for this reason. We use MATLAB as a framework of choice, and we want to extend our current toolbox with new facilities to better make use of the latest diagnostics data.
**Your assignment**:
Calibration tests have many steps of measurements and model actions. We need to be able to visualize and replay some parts of the sequence with offline tooling and extract insights about the system behavior. Specialized analysis tools are today limited to Development and Engineering business functions and should be made available to all parts of the organization. Using existing ASML frameworks we want to create a new set of tooling to implement access to the new diagnostics.
Therefore, this assignment is about exploring design directions and validating ideas via prototypes. As an intern you are responsible for designing, implementing, and validating MATLAB prototypes integrated to the ASML analysis framework.
Your tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Familiarize yourself with ASML Metrology Analysis framework, diagnostics, and data policies;
- Design, implement and validate a prototype for one calibration step;
- Fully integrate the prototype into the ASML diagnostics framework;
- Document your work for knowledge transfer.

To be a perfect match for this internship, you:
- Are busy with your bachelor's or master's in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field like Physics, Engineering, Maths;
- Are skilled in programming tools such as MATLAB and/or Python;
- Are able to analyze and visualize data;
- Are solution oriented and have a hands-on mentality;
- Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
This is an internship for 4-5 days a week with a duration of 5 to 12 months. The start date is as soon as possible.
