**Introduction**:
Particles on wafers represent a undesired contamination in our products that significantly impact the yield in semiconductor fabrication. At the wafer defectivity group the core of our work is to analyze these (nano)-particles on wafers on size and composition using different methods (e.g. optical methods or electron microscopy), and to identify the root cause of the particles. We are looking for an intern to support a feasibility study for a new analytical technique to characterize nanoparticles. We're a diverse team of ten engineers of different disciplines who can offer a young and diverse working environment with flexible working schedule.

**Your Assignment**:
During the internship your practical work will include:

- Preparing wafer samples in the cleanroom;
- Supporting in measuring wafer samples

The theoretical work will include:

- The analysis and interpretation of the measurement results in relation to literature
- Reporting and presentation of results
- Communicating these results with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. suppliers)

This is a master or bachelor apprentice internship for 4-6 months, 5 days per week. The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.

**Your Profile**:
To be a perfect fit for this assignment, you:

- Have a background in Chemistry, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering;
- Are a team player;
- Are self-driven;
- Have good communication skills in English (both verbal and written).

**Other requirements you need to meet**:

- You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
- You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
- If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
