Chemistry Internship: Particle deposition and cleanliness verification

Background Information
Cleanliness of Parts group is part of the Defectivity Department. The group supports ASML organization, suppliers and cleaning service providers to design, manufacture, assemble, clean and verify mono-parts, modules, and systems that fulfill the cleanliness specifications to meet our customer requirements.
For this, Cleanliness of Parts group develop various measurement techniques for qualification of part's cleanliness, one of which is a tool for surface particle cleanliness qualifications.
Your Assignment
As part of the group, your internship will be to understand particle contamination behavior on part's surface and the mechanisms behind the verification method. Your internship will focus on:
1. Developing methods to deposit particles for model contamination on different surfaces.
2. Evaluate performance of measurement tool to qualify surface cleanliness on particles.
As an intern you will have the ownership on the methodology and related documentations to implement gained knowledge into the contamination measurements performed at ASML and within our supply chain. Not to mention that you will have the opportunity to work in our cleanroom.
Your Profile
To be the perfect match for this internship you:
Are studying Physics, Material Science, Chemistry or Engineering; Are a bachelor student (bachelor apprentice/ thesis) or a master student looking to gain work experience (master apprentice internship); Have strong affinity with surface/interfacial chemistry and materials chemistry; Are interested in the transfer of processes from an R&D environment into production; Have experience with software that supports statistical analysis; Have experience with working in cleanrooms, SEM-EDX measurements and various spectroscopic techniques (UV/Vis, fluorescence, NMR, FTIR) - this is a plus; Have strong analytical ability and are solution driven; Have good communication and networking skills.Other requirements you need to meet:
You are available for 5 days/ week, and for a minimum duration of 6 months. The start date is asap; You are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship; You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, please include in your CV/motivation letter willingness to relocate.
