**Responsibilities**:
Customs Clearance:

- Prepare and process import and export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
- Classify goods according to tariff coding systems.

Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to import and export activities.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and adjust processes accordingly.

Client Relations:

- Act as a liaison between clients and customs authorities.
- Provide clients with guidance on customs regulations, duties, and taxes.

Documentation:

- Verify the accuracy of shipment documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation to customs and other regulatory agencies.

Problem Resolution:

- Address and resolve any issues that arise during the customs clearance process, including discrepancies, delays, and compliance issues.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth handling of shipments.

Record Keeping:

- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including documentation of customs entries, duties paid, and correspondences.
- Ensure proper filing and storage of all customs documentation for audit purposes.

Advisory Services:

- Provide advisory services to clients on best practices for minimizing duties and taxes while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Assist clients with tariff classification, valuation, and country of origin determinations.

Training and Development:

- Train and mentor junior staff on customs procedures and compliance.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to customs regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

- Licensed Customs Broker certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with specific customs brokerage software (e.g., CargoWise).
- Multilingual abilities, especially in languages (English) relevant to our client base.
