**Wat ga je doen?**:
Als Research Pilot / Piloot ben je betrokken bij onderzoek en projecten binnen de onderzoeksgebieden van de vliegtest organisatie; Flight Operations, Flight Test Operations en Maintenance.

Hierbij ben je verantwoordelijk voor het voorbereiden en uitvoeren van onze onderzoeksvluchten. Bijvoorbeeld: paraboolvluchten om proeven/testen tijdens gewichtsloosheid uit te voeren. Of we voeren meetvluchten uit, van frequentiemetingen tot precisiemetingen van air data ten behoeve van certificering van de Eurofighter.

De voorbereiding kan afhankelijk van de complexiteit van het onderzoek al maanden van te voren starten. Je draait mee in een project en bent betrokken bij het gehele proces rondom benodigde modificaties van het toestel, het opstellen van een flight test plan tot en met de daadwerkelijke uitvoering. Daarnaast draai je ook mee in projecten waar specifieke vliegerkennis benodigd is en/of die worden uitgevoerd op de simulator.

Een greep uit jouw taken:

- Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het voorbereiden en uitvoeren van onze onderzoeksvluchten. Zo maak je risicoplannen, analyses, geef je praktische adviezen over de vliegoperatie en schrijf je rapporten;
- Je initieert zelf projecten, schijft proposals en projectvoorstellen en publiceert over het resultaat van een project;
- Je draagt bij aan de succesvolle uitvoering van een breed scala aan projecten en programma’s. Hierbij heb je oog voor resultaat, team, budget en planning.

Als Research Pilot / Piloot bij deze afdeling van het NLR, werk je voornamelijk in de “Demonstration” en “Deployment” fase van de TRL’s. Sporadisch doe je eens wat werk in de “Development” fase. Dat maakt dat het werk dat je doet heel tastbaar is.

Je werkt bij ons in zelfsturende teams in meerdere projecten tegelijkertijd. Steeds in een wisselende samenstelling, maar altijd product-, project
- en kennisgeorganiseerd.

**Wat breng je mee?**:

- Een academisch werk
- en denkniveau in een technische richting;
- Aantoonbare ervaring in een operationele vliegomgeving, bij voorkeur een flight test organisatie;
- Minimaal CPL(A) en bij voorkeur ATPL(A).

Je komt nog dichter bij ons ideale profiel als je daarnaast beschikt over één of meerdere van onderstaande voorkeuren:

- Een Cat 1 Flight Test Rating;
- Een FI of TRI Rating;
- Een Type Rating C550;
- Een SEP en MEP Rating;
- Ervaring/ affiniteit met hoogwaardig (toegepast) onderzoek.

Vanuit je opleiding en ervaring beschik je over uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden in de Nederlandse en Engelse taal.

Verder ben je een zelfstarter: Je toont initatief, bent nieuwsgierig naar het opdoen van nieuwe kennis en deelt graag je eigen kennis en ervaring. Je werkt graag samen en hebt een talent voor organisatie en planning van projectwerkzaamheden.

**Jouw nieuwe werkomgeving?**:
De afdeling Flight Operations is verantwoordelijk voor het beheer en de operatie van de onderzoeksvliegtuigen van het NLR, de Pipistrel PH-NLX en de Citation PH-LAB. Op vliegveld Rotterdam hebben we een hangar, waar we de toestellen stallen en onderhouden. Jaarlijks vliegen we ruim 400 uur voor verschillende onderzoeks
- en meetvluchten. De afdeling ontwikkelt zich op het gebied van elektrisch vliegen, flight testing en de inzet van grotere UAS. Met alle ontwikkelingen in de luchtvaart is de behoefte aan meer kennis op deze gebieden groot.

In ons team van 11 collega’s werken wij met de TU Delft multidisciplinair samen aan onze testvlieg organisatie. Een plezierige werkomgeving vinden we essentieel. De sfeer binnen de afdeling is informeel en collegiaal en we vinden het belangrijk dat iedereen zich thuis kan voelen bij ons.
