**Location/Division Specific Information**:
Within Patheon, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific in Tilburg, we are responsible for the development and production of commercial medicines in dosed forms soft gel Capsules.
**Position in organization**:
Reports to: Senior Manager Operations
**Discover Impactful Work**:
The work is conducted in shifts. Production consists of the departments: Gel/Medicine/Tank wash, Dispensing/Encapsulation and Post Production. In the Gel/Medicine departments, the Gelatin, and the Medicine (respectively the casing and the filling of a capsule) are manufactured.
**A day in the Life**:
1. A Shift Manager Operations is assigned to a shift which includes responsibility to all three departments.
2. Has 5 direct reports and appr. 35 indirect reports
3. Ensures that Production is executed in full compliance with the safety regulations, industrial hygiene, GMP-guidelines, SOP’s/WI’s, and quality standards to realize On Time Delivery (OTD) and Right First Time (RFT) objectives.
4. accountable for maintaining and developing a professionally trained production workforce, consisting of qualified personnel. This role is at High Operational/Tactical level regarding the production facilities (capacity vs. demand, process development, efficiency, continuous improvement).
5. will be assigned to one of the following disciplines/area’s: Quality, Gel/Medicine -, Encapsulation-, Post-Production Area or EH&S. In case assigned to an area the responsibility is related to cross-shift business and is the process
- and equipment owner in this area. In case related to the disciplines Quality or EH&S the responsibility extends to be complying on these matters for the entire operations
**Keys to Success: Education**:
Work and think level:
Minimum 4 years HBO/University degree (e.g. engineering, operational process, industrial pharmacy or equivalent)
5+ years management experience leading Operational teams’ familiarity with directives and guidelines.
Experience with 5S, six sigma, lean manufacturing
Introduction program Patheon Soft gels B.V. (part of Thermo Fisher Scientific )
GMP and EH&S Basic Knowledge, skills, abilities
