**LeesEvolutie: Promovendus Development and testing of educational interventions within a digital context (1.0 fte)**

Wil jij bijdragen aan het oplossen van de leescrisis? En heb je interesse in het ontwikkelen van leesinterventies binnen een digitale context? Dan is deze promotieplek misschien wel iets voor jou.

**Dit ga je doen**
Als promovendus help je bij het ontwerpen van leesinterventies die gebruik maken van digitale technologie, en doe je experimenteel onderzoek naar de effectiviteit van de interventies. Interventies zullen gericht zijn op verschillende vaardigheden op het gebied van lezen, waaronder woordenschat, het maken van inferenties, en luistervaardigheden. De focus ligt op deelnemers op verschillende leeftijden en leerjaren (i.e. leerlingen op zowel de basisschool als de middelbare school en met en zonder leesproblemen). Interventies worden ontwikkeld in samenwerking met maatschappelijke partners.
- Als promovendus:_
- Draag je bij aan de opzet en uitvoering van het wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar de effectiviteit van de interventies;
- Coördineer je de onderzoeksactiviteiten, zoals het doornemen van de literatuur, de dataverzameling (waaronder de werving van proefpersonen), het coderen en invoeren van data, en het uitvoeren van statistische analyses;
- Onderhoud je de contacten met deelnemende scholen, maatschappelijke partners en andere onderzoekers in het consortium;
- Draag je bij aan het publiceren en presentatie van onderzoeksresultaten;
- Rond je een proefschrift af over het onderwerp van de studie.

**Research Team**

Achtergrond overkoepelend NWA project : Uit wetenschappelijk onderzoek en onderwijsonderzoek blijkt dat steeds meer Nederlandse leerlingen (4-18 jaar) steeds minder begrijpen van wat ze lezen, wat leidt tot problemen in hun schoolloopbaan en als volwassen burger. Dit overkoepelende NWA project richt zich op de vraag hoe deze trend met (digitaal) leesonderwijs kan worden gekeerd, zodat de leesvaardigheid toeneemt, het leesgedrag positief verandert en belezenheid toeneemt.

De Faculteit der Sociale Wetenschappen bestaat uit vijf instituten: Centrum voor Wetenschaps
- en Technologiestudies, Culturele Antropologie en Ontwikkelingssociologie, Pedagogische Wetenschappen, Politieke Wetenschap en Psychologie. De faculteit heeft circa 7000 studenten en 1000 medewerkers. Binnen de instituten wordt niet alleen onderwijs gegeven, maar ook baanbrekend onderzoek verricht dat de grenzen van ons begrip van menselijk gedrag en maatschappelijke structuren verlegt. - Instituut Pedagogische Wetenschappen_
De medewerkers van het Instituut Pedagogische Wetenschappen geloven in de kracht van samenwerking. Het wetenschappelijk personeel geeft onderwijs over en doet onderzoek naar de manier waarop kinderen en jongeren worden opgevoed, onderwezen en begeleid. Ook wordt onderzocht hoe verschillen in de opvoeding, het onderwijs en andere vormen van begeleiding gevolgen hebben voor de ontwikkeling van kinderen. Zowel in het onderzoek als in het onderwijs van Pedagogische Wetenschappen staat centraal hoe evidence-informed benaderingen kunnen bijdragen aan de optimale ontwikkeling van kinderen, bijvoorbeeld door ondersteuningsprogramma’s, diagnostische en interventiestrategieën en leermethoden.

Het instituut verzorgt onderwijs voor ruim 1500 studenten in verschillende opleidingen en programma’s: de Bachelor Pedagogische Wetenschappen, de Master Education and Child Studies, de Research Master Education and Child Studies, de Academische Pabo en de Educatieve Master Primair Onderwijs. Er zijn maandelijkse bijeenkomsten waarin deze onderwijs
- en onderzoeksthema’s worden besproken. Daarnaast zijn er regelmatig informele bijeenkomsten waarbij je je collega’s op een andere manier kan leren kennen. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn pubquizen, bake-offs en tafelvoetbalwedstrijden.

Wij zijn op zoek naar een collega die:

- via wetenschappelijk onderzoek wil bijdragen aan het helpen oplossen van een relevant maatschappelijk probleem;
- een (research)master heeft afgerond in, bij voorkeur, pedagogische wetenschappen, orthopedagogiek, onderwijswetenschappen of aanverwante richtingen;
- goede statistische vaardigheden heeft (kwantitatieve en kwalitatieve analysemethoden);
- bij voorkeur ervaring heeft met (quasi)experimenteel en interventieonderzoek;
- goede Nederlandse en Engelse spreek
- en schrijfvaardigheid heeft;
