Director of Operations - Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operational Leadership:

- You will oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, spa, engineering and other guest services.
- You will ensure the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction are consistently maintained.
- Strategic Management:

- You will collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement short-term and long-term operational strategies.
- You will lead key property projects, including renovations, capital improvements, and new service initiatives.
- Budgeting and Financial Management:

- You will assist in the preparation and management of the hotel's annual budget.
- You will monitor departmental budgets, control costs, and analyze financial performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Team Development and Leadership:

- You will provide effective leadership and support to department heads and their teams.
- You will foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional development, and career growth.
- You will implement succession planning to ensure the continuity of high-quality management.
- Guest Experience:

- You will ensure all guest interactions are handled with the utmost professionalism and hospitality.
- You will actively seek and respond to guest feedback to continually enhance the guest experience.
- You will be a visible presence in the hotel, engaging with guests to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Quality Assurance:

- You will ensure compliance with hotel and company service standards and operational procedures.
- You will regularly review and respond to audit findings to drive continuous improvement.
- And finally Communication and Coordination:

- You will hold regular meetings with department heads to ensure clear communication and alignment on hotel goals and initiatives.
- You will serve as a key point of contact for all operational matters, facilitating collaboration across departments.

**What Are We Looking For?**

To successfully fill this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviors, skills, and values:

- Experience in luxury hotels, including relevant experience as a Director of Operations or Hotel Manager in a luxury hotel
- Passion for interacting with guests
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with Forbes 4 or 5-star standards
- Strong commercial acumen, preferably with experience as (Assistant) Food and Beverage Manager and/or Rooms Management
- Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high performance and exceed targets
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Accountability and resilience
- Ability to work under pressure
- A degree or diploma in Hotel Management or a related field
- Fluent English. Proficiency in multiple languages is considered a plus
