**Data Scientist**
Full-time (40 hours a week), Berkel en Rodenrijs, Rotterdam area

**What will you do as a Data Scientist?**
As a Data Scientist at Koppert, you will work within a relatively new team focused on developing and implementing cutting-edge data solutions. Alongside your team, you will be pioneers within our organization, utilizing the latest technologies such as computer vision, predictive analytics, and generative AI.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing proof-of-concepts and conducting ad hoc analyses.
- Building and deploying machine learning models for existing solutions.
- Engaging in a wide range of projects, including replacing manual insect counting with computer vision and detecting anomalies in production processes.
- Creating a Digital Assistant to aid growers in crop protection using biological products.

**A typical day as a Data Scientist**
A typical day as a Data Scientist will offer you versatile things to work on and considerable freedom to navigate through those projects, collaborating closely with both tech and business specialists. One day you could be experimenting with new techniques, to develop a proof-of-concept for a new LLM use case. Another day could be focused on training and deploying a new object detection model, contributing to scaling up our digital insect counting solution worldwide.

**Who are you?**
To be successful as a Data Scientist at Koppert, you bring the following qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Econometrics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Azure (or any cloud platform).
- Relevant working experience in Machine Learning Engineering/Azure infrastructure is a plus.
- Experience with Generative AI is an advantage.
