**Minor Hotels** is a global hospitality group operating over 550 hotels, resorts and residences in 56 countries in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe and the Americas. As a hotel owner, operator and investor, Minor Hotels fulfils the needs and desires of today’s global travellers through its diverse portfolio of eight hotel brands - Anantara, Avani, Elewana, NH, NH Collection, nhow, Oaks and Tivoli. As part of **Minor Hotels**, the region of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas is responsible for more than 350 properties in 30 countries and plans to grow across all segments, with a focus on its upper-upscale and luxury brands.
Reporting to the Business Unit Director of Finance and functionally to the Group SVP Controlling, the Business Controller is responsible for the design and consistency of the different management control tools, providing the Northern Europe Management Committee with all the necessary elements for the company control. This includes transforming information into assessments that help anticipate risks and also decision taking for the different players to ultimately secure the targets that have to be met.

**What are you going to do?**
Proactive Business Follow-Up- Maintain a close relationship with key areas (Commercial, Operations, Marketing) to ensure effective business follow-up.
- Define relevant information and conduct thorough analysis to identify deviations, risks, and opportunities.
- Suggest actions or areas to focus on based on insights.
- This involves the following:
- Day-to-Day Sales Follow-Up: Monitor daily sales activities to ensure targets are met and address any immediate issues
- Month-End Reporting: Compile and analyze monthly sales data to provide accurate and timely reports.
- Monthly Business Performance Review: Conduct comprehensive reviews of business performance with a focus on future analysis (forecasting) and tracking the progress of key action plans by region, including revenue and cost analysis.
- Forecast Process Ownership: Continuously improve the forecasting process to enhance accuracy and reliability.
Budget Buildup- Define and coordinate the budget buildup process, ensuring the involvement of all relevant participants to secure a solid and realistic budget.
- Establish clear guidelines and timelines for budget preparation.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among different departments.
- Review and consolidate budget inputs to create a comprehensive financial plan.
Strategic and Investment Decisions- Collaborate in making strategic and investment decisions by validating business cases.
- Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of potential investments.
- Assess the financial and operational impact of strategic decisions.
- Provide recommendations based on data-driven insights.
Other Strategic Projects- Participate in various strategic projects aimed at improving business processes and systems.
- Data Quality Improvements: Implement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and reliability of data.
- Analytical Accounting Enhancements: Improve accounting practices, such as the treatment of holiday provisions and inter-company billing.
- Integration Projects: Lead or support projects that integrate new systems or processes into the existing business framework.
**What are we looking for?**
- In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including IFRS and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Proficiency in automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Experience with short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and line of business profitability analysis.
- Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule.
- Fluent in German and English.
