For the Jazz & Pop programme at the Arnhem Academy of Music we are looking for a:
**Head of programme Jazz & Pop (0.6 FTE)**

The ArtEZ Academy of Music is one of the largest conservatoires in the Netherlands and has locations in Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle. We educate musicians and makers, performers and producers, music therapists and artist educators, who know how to give social significance to their craftsmanship and artistry - in collaboration with others. Education at the locations is characterised by personal attention, short lines and small scale.

**Arnhem**
The Bachelor programmes in Jazz & Pop, Composition for Film & Theatre and Music Theatre of the Arnhem Academy of Music train self-willed ‘edgy’ musicians, players, makers and performers who constantly question and stretch the boundaries of their own autonomous artistry. Students give innovative substance to artistic entrepreneurship, think and work from music, and do not shy away from interdisciplinary cooperation. Self-willed, experimental, interdisciplinary and socially engaged.

**The programme**
In the English-language Jazz & Pop programme, mastery is central. In addition to a great freedom of choice, students regardless of their background are introduced to five main styles jazz, pop, Latin, hip-hop and free improvisation in the initial phase of their studies, which later in their studies is incorporated into their own style, a quirky broad or narrow mix of what the student has picked up. We want to introduce students to different styles, inspire them and help them give space and accept their own personality.

Many students collaborate with students from other art disciplines: dancers, theatre makers and visual artists.

**Your profile**
You are an inspiring personality and an approachable and visible leader who is able to create and maintain an open and safe learning and working climate for students and colleagues. You have a vision of Jazz & Pop that fits the profile, are well-informed about the diversity of developments in the professional field and are (have been) employed as a professional musician. Having a diverse network of (inter)national relations within the professional field is indispensable. You have an academic working and thinking level. The multitude of activities and responsibilities positively excites you. As a manager, you are able to listen, communicate clearly and know how to motivate and connect others. The nature of the programme requires a willingness to be available at flexible times (in connection with open days, projects, auditions, etc.).

**Your tasks**
You are the face and first point of contact for the programme, both within ArtEZ and outside. You actively lead the development of the programme profile, vision and content and actively promote it, also via social media. You translate these into an efficient curriculum, fitting within the financial preconditions of the academy of music. You are responsible for the substantive quality of the programme, the teaching team and the programme finances.

**Our offer**
You will have a temporary contract of 0.6 FTE for one year. With good performance, there is the possibility of a permanent contract. The gross monthly salary amounts to a minimum of € 5.917,50 and a maximum of € 7.207,59 (function Head of Education B, scale 13) on the basis of a 36-hour working week.
