The ArtEZ Academy of Music is one of the largest conservatoires in the Netherlands and collaborates with a large number of conservatoires within and outside the European Union. At the three campuses in Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle, the atmosphere is friendly and supportive. There is a lot of personal attention, and communication lines are short. At the same time students benefit fully from the facilities and possibilities of a large conservatoire.

For Composition for Film and Theatre (CFT) in Arnhem, we are looking for a:
**Main Subject Lecturer of Composition for Film and Theatre (0,2 fte) working as a composer for FILM**

**The programme**
Composition for Film and Theatre (CFT) is a four-year English-language international Bachelor programme with an emphasis on composing in an interdisciplinary, collaborative manner. Previously part of the Arnhem Jazz & Pop programme, it became a fully independent department in 2022. Classes are taught on campus, online and in hybrid form.

Music composition, sound engineering, history, theory, instrumentation and notation form the foundation of the course. CFT also encourages the development of students as autonomous, innovative and entrepreneurial makers, with awareness of the social significance and role they will play in the hybrid professional field. We strive for diversity in the content of the programme and the teaching team. CFT becomes more valuable, timely, inclusive and inspiring when multiple perspectives are represented.

**Your tasks**
You will provide one-on-one lessons to students in all four years of the CFT Bachelor programme at ArtEZ Arnhem. You will guide composition students during (interdisciplinary) extracurricular projects and will teach composition students of other departments (Master, Jazz & Pop, Muziektheater) when requested. You will work with our CFT admissions committee and will participate in juries during Final and transitional exams.

**Your profile**
You are an experienced composer for film with a broad (international) network. You have a passion for teaching and providing inspiring learning environments. You share knowledge and skills in an open, warm, and broad-minded manner. You encourage your students to find their own voice, while imparting the guidance necessary for them to grow with confidence and creativity. You are able to travel to Arnhem weekly, as well as at points of the schoolyear during special projects and events.

**Our offer**
You will begin work in February 2025 and will be offered a temporary contract for the duration of one year. Subject to performance review, there is a possibility of extension. The gross monthly salary is a minimum of € 4.361,31 and a maximum of € 6.114,87 (scale 11) based on a 36-hour working week. Besides an informal and open working atmosphere, we offer attractive terms of employment in accordance with the CAO-HBO.
