_As Operational Risk Control Assurer you will be part of Strategy & Control team to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of GBI's Operational Risk Management Model (also known as Non-Financial Risk). Apart from carrying out regular assurance tasks, we would like you to assist us in identifying and classifying inherent risks, as well as determining the significance of certain controls and assurance activities_._

**_ Your role:_**:
The Operational Risk Control Assurer is responsible for ensuring that an organization’s operational risk management framework is effectively implemented, maintained, and followed. This role involves identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring operational risks to minimize potential negative impacts on business operations. The Assurer will collaborate with various departments to ensure operational controls are in place and align with organizational risk management strategies.

Beside other areas, this role ensures that retail banking operations, especially new customer onboarding, comply with regulatory standards and internal risk management frameworks.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Operational Risk Management:

- Assess and monitor operational risks to identify vulnerabilities that could impact business operations.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce potential negative impacts.
- Ensure that the Operations related risk management and control processes are constantly updated in line with regulations, policies and procedures, Support the development of risk and control procedure

Risk Assessment and Control
- Conduct risk assessments across various operational areas and document findings.
- Perform the “Risk and Control Self-Assessment” together with front business line
- Identify gaps in existing controls and work with relevant stakeholders to implement improvements.
- Ensure the effectiveness of operational controls through regular monitoring and testing.

Compliance and Governance:

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices related to operational risk management.
- Report on risk management status to senior leadership and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Assist in audits and assessments to ensure adherence to established risk controls.

Risk Reporting and Documentation:

- Develop and maintain risk reports, dashboards, and other documentation to communicate risk exposure to management.
- Provide regular updates on risk mitigation activities and their effectiveness.

Collaboration and Training:

- Work closely with departments such as Retail banking, finance, legal, KYC, customer onboarding and operations to identify and manage risks.
- Provide training and guidance on operational risk control measures to employees at all levels.
- Foster a risk-aware culture across the organization.

Continuous Improvement:

- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the organization’s operational risk framework remains up to date.
- Suggest and implement improvements to enhance operational risk controls and mitigate emerging risks.

**Skills/Qualifications**:
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in operational risk management, internal controls, or related roles.

Knowledge:

- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements, and operational control procedures.
- Knowledge on relevant external guidelines like DNB/ AP/ EBA/ GDPR
- Familiar to risk frameworks like ISO 27001, ISO27018, ISO27017, SOC, ISAE, CObit
- Preferably in possession of ISACA certifications like CISA, CRISC, CISM, CSX-P or similar
- Knowledge of ISO31000 NFR - Risk Management

**Skills**:

- Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to align stakeholder needs while building effective relationships with (strategic) external partners to align services and expenditures.
- Establishes and maintains continuous, positive, cooperative communication with team members and other GBI staff.
- Ability to work autonomously and combine multiple (RCA) related tasks and activities
- Ability to work in a matrix-oriented organization having multiple reporting lines and divers deadlines
