About Us

G&EANT is a leading organization in research and education networking, providing high-speed data communications networks and identity and access management solutions to researchers, scientists, academics, and students worldwide.

The role of Chief Security Architect Specialist will be crucial in designing and developing technical infrastructure and security systems/tools for G&EANT and its partner National Research and Education Networks (NRENs). The ideal candidate will have extensive ICT experience, including information security, and will devise Security Roadmaps and underlying security architecture for products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing cybersecurity tools and systems/infrastructure.
  • Developing and maintaining the G&EANT security roadmap which guides security developments for G&EANT and NRENs for the next 5 years.
  • Managing the information security knowledge base, maintaining current knowledge of security technologies, threats, vulnerabilities concepts, and controls, and advising on security best practices and recommendations.
  • Producing security architecture, design documentation, best practice recommendations, secure system configurations, and other documents for G&EANT and NRENs.
  • Participating in security experts groups within the R&E community and the wider security arena.

What You'll Need:

  • A degree in IT, information systems, computer science, cyber security, security architecture, engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive ICT experience, including experience within information security.
  • Extensive experience devising Security Roadmaps and underlying security architecture for products and services.
  • Expert knowledge of security concepts and technologies for networking, high performance computing, and collaboration with a broad basis of ICT knowledge.
  • Expert knowledge of security architecture principles.
  • Deep understanding of the principles around product and service lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of open-source tools and operating systems.

What We Offer:

  • An estimated salary of €80,000 - €120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • A generous holiday allowance and a 5% end of year allowance as standard.
  • An appropriate pension scheme and medical insurance.
