Job Role: Technology Harmonisation Engineer

Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for piloting the Technology Harmonisation process at a European level, leading to roadmaps agreed by ESA Programmes, Technical Domain leaders, Member States and industry, and monitoring their implementation. Additionally, the candidate will provide a secretariat function for the Technology Harmonisation Advisory Group and Technology Advisory Working Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Piloting the Technology Harmonisation process and leading to roadmaps agreed by ESA Programmes, Technical Domain leaders, Member States and industry.
  • Providing a secretariat function for the Technology Harmonisation Advisory Group and Technology Advisory Working Group.
  • Supporting the running and evolution of the European Space Technology Harmonisation process.
  • Maintaining a database of industrial capabilities consistent with harmonisation dossiers and roadmaps.
  • Supporting industrial policies relating to technologies.
  • Interfacing with the EU for technology-related matters.
  • Coordinating the Agency support to EU technology programmes.
  • Leading the coordination with the European Commission and European Defence Agency of critical space technologies for European non-dependence.
  • Maintaining the end-to-end process for management of technology development within ESA.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Background in a wide range of technologies relevant to space and experience in space projects and technology development.
  • Familiarity with Technology R&D processes.
  • Knowledge of Programme/Project management and controlling methods and tools.
  • Autonomy, authority and ability to interface with ESA staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and synthesise complex information.
  • Good verbal and written communications.
  • Rigor, commitment and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks.
  • Proactive attitude to solving problems.
  • Familiarity with modern electronics office automation tools.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, ability to write technical documents in English.
