The company leverages a robust network of certified technicians, both in-house and third-party, to assist clients in navigating increasingly stringent global and regional regulations regarding critical vessel equipment inspections.

Growth and Development

In 2020, Xanthic welcomed a private equity investor to enhance its growth trajectory, aiming to establish itself as a premier global provider of vessel equipment TICS services. Following two years of organic expansion, the investor recognized the potential for Xanthic to lead in a fragmented market characterized by local operators and limited global competition. The company is positioned as a unique platform for executing a buy-and-build strategy, broadening its service offerings and geographic reach.

Since the acquisition, Xanthic has experienced remarkable growth, doubling its revenue and expanding its TICS services through the acquisition of two companies. The workforce has grown from approximately 35 employees based in Rotterdam to around 100 globally, with a significant increase in on-payroll technicians in key operational hubs.

Position Overview

As Xanthic embarks on its next phase of growth, we are in search of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO in executing a global buy-and-build strategy within the vessel equipment TICS sector. The CFO will be responsible for enhancing organizational performance by providing critical financial and operational insights to the CEO and COO, enabling informed decision-making regarding daily operations and long-term strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CEO to drive the M&A agenda, evaluating the strategic, operational, and financial alignment of potential acquisitions.
  • Monitor organizational performance against the annual budget and long-term strategic goals, fostering a culture of accountability.
  • Develop and refine tools, systems, and processes to deliver essential financial and operational data to the executive team.
  • Ensure robust internal risk controls and compliance with legal frameworks.
  • Lead and enhance the finance team, ensuring high performance and engagement.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for the board, effectively communicating insights to shareholders.
  • Oversee long-term budgeting and cost management aligned with strategic initiatives.
  • Align the company’s capital structure with its growth strategy.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations and resource planning.
  • Foster transparent communication with financial stakeholders.
  • Encourage open feedback within the finance team to promote continuous improvement.
  • Act as a leader and collaborator, contributing to the overall success of the finance function.
Candidate Profile
  • Highly organized, punctual, and analytically adept, capable of challenging and refining operational strategies based on key performance indicators.
  • Ability to instill a culture of cost awareness throughout the organization.
  • Proficient in articulating the company’s financial narrative to investors and lenders.
  • Skilled in creating frameworks that enable team success.
  • Hands-on approach with a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
  • Adaptable to evolving circumstances and challenges.
  • Decisive, with a preference for addressing challenges head-on.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a CFO in medium-sized, rapidly growing companies with an international footprint.
  • Proven track record in executing buy-and-build strategies, including financial due diligence and ERP integration.
  • Familiarity with private equity ownership and associated financial arrangements.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • University-level education in finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English.

Compensation

The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
