The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Purchaser - Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for various projects, ensuring that all goods and services are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the procurement process for multiple projects, including sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and operations staff, to ensure smooth project execution;
  • Ensure compliance with Damen's procurement policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements;
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements;
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure business continuity;
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement and supply chain performance;

Requirements

  • Completed technical and/or commercial Bachelor's degree;
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field;
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and business results;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and drive business growth;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Knowledge of procurement software and systems, including IFS and SAP;
  • Valid EU citizenship or a valid EU work visa;
