Technical Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Technical Buyer to join our team at Damen Civil & Modular Constructions. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for the procurement process within our projects and assist project managers with the practical implementation and preparation of purchases.

You will work closely with various internal teams, project managers, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. Your duties will include developing procurement plans, negotiating with suppliers, and monitoring the quality of purchased products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Translate drawings to purchase orders.
  • Provide technical feedback on drawings regarding purchases.
  • Conduct procurement analyses and develop procurement strategies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure best prices and terms.
  • Manage procurement processes and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify procurement needs and set priorities.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement documentation and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and internal guidelines.

Required Profile:

  • A completed education in a relevant field, preferably in the maritime or technical sector, such as mechanical engineering.
  • Strong affinity with purchasing and work preparation.
  • Some experience in procurement or a similar role is a plus, but enthusiastic starters are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Analytical thinking and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Team player who can collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
